Holy crap it’s been over a month since I’ve written here!! Which means that it’s gonna be this extra fat block of text!! Nah nah I think I’ll use my friend’s suggestion and use dates as headings to make it look a bit neater

Tuesday, 23rd June

On the 23rd I was gonna go to Klexon (the international circle thing) again right? But it starts at 7 and I finish uni at 4:30 so I have like 2.5 hrs of nothing to do… so I was walking around killing time and I needed to go to the toilet so I went to maccas to use their toilet right??? But then I heard ppl speaking English, like I heard one native speaker and one Japanese person trying to speak English… and I was like… ohhhh are they having a private lesson?? I want to ask how he got into it coz I wanna do that too!! So I went over to where I heard it…. and I found out that it was actually one of my friends I met from a party I had with Doshisha ppl!!!

So then I was like… oh hey!!! But he made this やっべーーーーーーーー kind of face and I was like wtf?? but I just ignored it anyway and asked him if he was teaching English…. and he was like… yeah…. kind of… and then I was like… ooooh! How did you find your students??? And then he was like… well… I kind of just met them just now… they were studying English and I thought I wanted to help!! In other words… He was in the mid of picking them up!!!!!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHA

But yeah I just found it hilarious so I stayed there and kept talking to them (there were 2 schoolgirls) and it was really funny HAHAHA. So I kept getting in my friend’s way right?? And eventually the schoolgirls had to leave and my friend hadn’t asked them for their contact details yet so he asked for them… and they actually gave it to him!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sugeeeeee!!! Remember how I tried the same thing in Starbucks coz I didn’t know anybody back then and wanted to make new friends?? Well I failed back then but he actually succeeded!! Wow sugeeee!!

But yeah… Then when they were giving him their numbers I thought I’d make the situation more interesting…. And I was like… oh me too! HAHAHA Yeah that was so funny he had to do all the hard work and all I did was say oh me too and then they were like ok ok!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHHAAHHA But nah I just did that coz it was funny I haven’t called them or nething

Hmm yeah but then afterwards I went to Klexon circle but didn’t have enough money to go to the pub with them afterwards (I still didn’t hadn’t gotten my cc replaced yet!! >_<) It’s not particularly that fun anyway I don’t even really know why I go to Klexon HAHA Well it’s not bad but it’s not that great either… Like it’s really organised… foreigner ppl are separated and Japanese ppl rotate between foreigners every 5 mins… So  you don’t really get much freedom so I don’t find it as fun.

Wednesday 24th June

HMm and I don’t really remember what I did the next day… I remember I was by myself that day but I don’t remember what I was doing >_< I think I just went to Shijo to look around by myself or something…  For some strange reason I think that staying home is wasting my time but walking around aimlessly around shijo by myself isn’t… so I always walk around shijo when I have nothing to do… I don’t understand it myself!!

Ohhhh!! But then I started writing entries on mixi (This social networking site Japanese ppl use where you write blogs and stuff, so I’ve been writing on them in Japanese to practice my Jap) and I found a lot of ppl I knew!! Oh and on mixi ppl do actually make friends with randoms so I was trying to do that too HAHAHAHA But yeah so I messaged a lot of randoms and we exchanged mail and stuff but then I ended up messaging too many ppl and it got too bothersome replying to them all so I just stopped HAHAHAHA I’m so slack!!!!

But yeah on mixi it’s really hard to find people you know! Coz they don’t use their real pics and they don’t use their real names most of the time too!! So it’s really inconvenient!! >_<

Thursday 25th June

Hmm yeah but then on Thursday I worked in place of my tutor! (She was the one who introduced me to the job… so we work at the same place) And after my class my students invited me out right??? So we went to an izakaya and it was ちょうど 3 guys and 3 girls so one of the guys was jokingly said it was goukon!! Then he was like… so Kevin… which one do you like the most??? And then I was like eh?!?!?!?!!? Like in Aus you can’t say anything right?? So then I was just like… errrr…………. and then after a while he was like… In this case, you have to say all of them!!! So I was like… なるほどね！

But yeah then afterwards, he was like… So Kevin… Do you like cute girls?? Is there a cute girl here??? And then once again I was like eeeeeh!?!?!?!??!?!?!?!?!? coz in Aus you can’t say anything right??? but if I said no then that’s really slack!!!!!! So then I was like errrrr….. and kept trying to think of a good answer but he was like… in this situation you have to say all of them are cute!! So once again I was like… なるほどね！

And omg… you know how ppl always say that Japanese girls are really indirect and reserved and stuff??? BUT THAT’S NOT CASE AT ALL!!! Like one girl she kept asking me… What type of girls do you like??? And then… Am I that type of girl??? And then when I didn’t really give a proper answer she was like… I have no chance right??? But it’s not just her!! OMG so many Japanese girls do the same thing!! And they do that after JUST meeting you! It’s crazy!!!

Hmm but yeah then I just smiled back at her (I mean… what else was I supposed to do???) and then coz I smiled at her she smiled back and then one of the guys was like… Do you like her???? And then once again I was like… eeeeh!?!??!!?!?!??!?!?!?!??!?! Coz I def can’t say yes and saying no is really slack right??????? So then I was like shit what should I say??!?!?!??! And I kept going errr……. and I kept thinking of something to say… and then the girl kind of got sad But then my friend was like… in this case you have to at least say that she’s cute or something… and I was like なるほどね！ once again!! But you wouldn’t do that in Aus right??? Coz if you did it pretty much meant you liked her and wanted her to go out with you… right???

Hmm but yeah then they paid for me!! (Coz I had no money left) I didn’t really want them to pay for me but they asked me out and I was like I don’t have any money so I can’t sorry >_< but then they were like nonono it’s ok it’s ok senpais always treat their kouhais it’s Japanese culture (which is true) so then I was like yeah alright :D:D (Actually my students are older than me, usually in their mid 20s-30s or so)

Friday 26th, June

Hmm… and then on Friday I was actually supposed to meet a friend of mine from Osaka but she cancelled on me last minute… bitch!!!!! So I was like… sigh what should I doかな。。。。and actually I had a lot of work to do coz I had tests and exams the next week which I hadn’t started on yet… so I was like… hmm I guess I’ll go home and study??? But it’s a friday!! >_< But yeah as I was about to go home I bumped into a friend of mine and she was getting ready for a party!! And then I remembered ppl handing out pamphlets of this party they were having at Kyoto Uni (organised by the students)… and usually when I get pamphlets I just chuck it out straight away right?? Like I’d just take a glance at it and chuck it out (but it’s true right?? Like nobody can really be bothered reading it properly right?? hahaha) But yeah I remembered the venue and the time properly so I was like… alright I’ll go to that!! And I expected it to be a normal party where everybody gets to know each other and stuff so I thought I’d be able to make new friends easily… but that wasn’t the case at all!!!!!!

Like I went by myself right?? And coz I went by myself they put me on my own table… and then I was waiting and waiting and waiting for them to put other ppl with me but they didn’t!! And I was like wtf?? And I realised that it wasn’t really a big party where everybody mixes with each other at all!! Like  it’s a party where you bring your friends and you just talk to them!! But I paid for it already… so I was like fine I’ll stay and watch whatever show they put on… but I was like the only one by myself and everybody else was having heaps of fun and occasionally they looked at me and had a wtf is he doing kind of expression and it felt kind of awkward!!!! Like at least if they put me next to someone I could have talked to them! But they put me on my own table with nobody around me!!! >_< But yeah yeah then I kept waiting and waiting and waiting… but there was STILL nothing…

But yeah then eventually I got sick of ppl staring at me and giving me a wtf is he doing type look so I emailed some of my friends to get them to save me!! HAHAHAHA Usually I don’t really mind being by myself (Like I’m ok with friends too, but I don’t really feel lonely when I’m by myself too), so it was interesting asking ppl to go out with me for the first time in Japan!!

But then I saw some ppl leave after they finished their dinner… and then I realised that they DIDN’T have any events on and it was just like a student-organised restaurant type thing!! So then I was like oh!! then I can just leave!!! So that’s what I did hahahahaha

Saturday 27th June

HMm and then on Saturday I had another lesson!! This time 6 ppl came to my lesson, sugeeee!! Actually I get paid extra if 5 ppl or more come to my lessons so I got paid extra that time ^_^ But yeah a few days before these ppl from this international circle called kixs invited me to a party of theirs right?? but I told them I had work so I can go there afterwards… but I finished work 40 mins late (I was talking to my students, they’re really nice to me!!) and also the place was really far away… and it finishes at 3 o’clock… and by the time I got there it was like 3 o’clock already and I went all the way there (which took about an hr!) for nothing!! >_<

But that’s not true!! A lot of ppl stayed afterwards and we played this weird rotational table tennis thing and I ate a lot of their homemade food which tasted really good!! ^_^ And I got to meet a lot of new ppl too!!

Sunday 28th June

On Sunday I went to Toy Box (the badminton circle)! I’ve gone before and they played with plastic shuttles which kind of really turned me off but somebody did a favour for me and he really really really wanted me to come so I went hahaha… well I went and they told me that I couldn’t use my joggers!! They said I needed special indoor shoes!! So then I had to take my shoes off and play barefooted!! Well I wasn’t barefooted I had my socks and stuff but it was sooooooooo slippery that it was dodgy!!!

But yeah we didn’t play with plastic shuttles this time!! Well at least for the first 5 mins when I was playing with a friend of mine who could actually play properly we didn’t!! But yeah then after that we did again… >_< And once again I was put with really shit ppl so I had to go super easy on them and it was really boring

But yeah then afterwards we went to my uni’s food court to have dinner together!!! And I found ATA ppl again!! But yeah I had questionnaires that I had to get ppl to do right? So I gave it to them but it’s like a 7 page questionnaire but they were like eeeeeh… do I have to do this? I so can’t be bothered and then I just ずっと　stood there and smiled and pretended I didn’t understand them so eventually they gave in and did it and they were like… well for Kevin’s sake… HAHAHAHAHA

Monday, 29th June

On Monday I had a report due at 5 o’clock right??? And I was gonna do it the night before but I was tired so I told myself I’d rest for 5 mins and then I ended up falling asleep till the morning!!!! >_< And then I had to skip my Japanese class to work on it :O Andddd my tennis teacher (I’m in tennis class too) told me that I’ve skipped too many classes and if I skip one more class I wouldn’t get credit nemore so I was like oh shit!! I have to do my report!! What should I do??? >_< So then I ended up going to my teacher and telling her that I have an interview HAHAHAH But yeah then she allowed me to take a make-up class!!!! So I was like yayyyy and then worked on my assignment!! :D:D:D But yeah I finished at like 4:50 or something and it took me 5 mins to print and the office I had to hand the report in was in a diff campus so I had to rush!!!!! (The office closes at 5) So then I was like oh shit!!!!! and didn’t have time to put my report in my bag so then I handed in what looked like wet tissues :O:O:O:O

Grah I’m sick of trying to remember what I did everyday it was too long ago and there’s too much to remember!!!!!! I’ll just make a summary of the big things I did but I’ll do that another day!!!!

Yakiniku and Spoccha and other things = no more money!! >_<

Hmm so on Thursday we had a school holiday coz it was Kyoto University’s foundation day or something right?? But I stayed home for once! It’s funny coz when I have school I’m always going out and stuff but the one holiday I have I end up staying home… :O:O:O But yeah I woke up at like 12 but then I stayed in bed just daydreaming and messaging on my phone until 5!!!!

But yeah then on Friday I went to yakiniku!! And last time for my friend’s bday party we had all you can eat yakiniku for 2 hrs and everybody still wanted more to eat after 2 hrs right?? So this time I was like… alright I need to cook really really fast!! So I kept cooking and giving half the meat to me and half the meat to my friend and then cooking and giving meat and cooking and giving meat non-stop and the meat just stacked up and up and up and up… like the thing is last time there were like 6 ppl on one grill or something… but this time we had 4 ppl and 2 grills, so it was 1 grill between 2 and I just kept cooking and handing food like crazy and the meat stacked up so much and I didn’t wait for my friend to finish I just kept cooking and putting meat on her bowl and I didn’t even have time to talk!! I was just like a yakiniku grilling machine!!!!! But yeah we had 2 hrs all you can eat right?? But then half an hr into it the friend sharing the grill with me was already clutching her stomach and looked like she was about to vomit ANDDDD SHE STILL HAD LIKE TWO WHOLE BOWLS OF MEAT TO FINISH!! So then she took like one little bite by one little bite and looked as if she was gonna die or something and it was really funny!!! HAHAHAHAHA But yeah then eventually I was like alright fine I’ll just eat it for you HAHAHA But yeah then in the end we ordered ice cream right??? And she was so full that she couldn’t even enjoy her ice cream!! Like she ate it like 1 ml by 1 ml… and STILL clutched onto her stomach and looked like she was gonna die after every bite HAHAHA So then I finished her ice cream for her too… Haha I kind of feel bad for cooking and giving her food so fast… actually not really she looked too funny I enjoyed every moment of her suffering!! HAHAHAHAHAHA

But yeah then we went to a place called Spoccha! You know on TV you sometimes see like baseball pitching machines that pitch baseballs at you and you just hit them and stuff?? Well they have that at spoccha!! And I haven’t played baseball before right?? So I tried batting… and they threw 10 balls right??? And I couldn’t even hit one on the slowest pitching machine!! And then I tried again… and couldn’t even hit one again!!! And then the ppl I was with were like… ok ok I feel bad for Kevin this is too embarassing let’s do something else HAHAHAHAHA But yeah they also had pool so I played pool for the first time with friends in Japan!! I’ve been wanting to play pool with friends for a looooong time!! But yeah Japanese ppl kind of suck at pool so they were like whoaaa sugeee!! And thought I was really cool and stuff when I played… even though I wasn’t that good coz I hadn’t played in so long! Hmm and we also had table tennis! And they sucked at table tennis too so they thought I was pro… and we also played badminton!! But it was dodgy badminton with a plastic shuttlecock and outside with the wind blowing… as if you can play badminton like that!! But yeah they thought I was pro neway… even though I kept missing coz of the wind!! You can’t play badminton properly outdoors!! Hmm… oh and there were like boxing machines and like table tennis feeders that feed balls to you and you have to smash them… and… there was also mini-golf and volleyball and indoor soccer and basketball and mini bowling machines and lots of game centre games andddd it was unlimited play from 11PM to 6AM for only 1400 yen!!!!!!!!!!! And that’s for EVERYTHING including the game centre games! So cheap!!!! Ohhh and there was also roller skating!! And I used to roller skate at the park when I was a lil kid right? So I could skate… and my friends couldn’t so they were all scared and really slow and stuff… and THEY were the ones who kept saying they wanted to skate so I thought they must have been pro or something… but nah they weren’t!! So I kept pushing them HAHAHAHAHA But yeah they just went really slowly and played it safe.. which was boring! This other random group was skating too… and they couldn’t really skate either but they tried to go fast and they tried holding hands and pushing each other and stuff and they kept stacking it it was so funny!!!!!! Like every 5 secs they’d fully stack it and if they were holding hands the whole group would stack it!!!!! Oh and there was also Karaoke but we didn’t go. Hmm and then after roller skating it was already 5 am and we only had one hr left right?? So my friend asked me what I wanted to do, and before we played table tennis right? And I went serious against the guy I played but I went easy when I had to vs a girl right? And then she won but she complained that I went easy on her and she wanted to play with me seriously so then I was like alright let’s have a rematch… and then i did and won against her but this time she was happy… then I also wanted to try batting again, and I realised what I did wrong! Like I’m used to playing tennis so I have a huge backswing right??? But in baseball coz the racket is a bat and the hitting area is so small a huge backswing would make it really hard to hit the ball! So then I shortened my backswing and I could hit it properly!!! I even hit a few home-run type shots!! Woot!! Hmm yeah but then the shop closed at 6 am and we were driving home right??

And actually I had my first day of work that morning!!! Like my friend asked me to go to spoccha with her like a week ago right?? So then not knowing that we were gonna stay overnight I agreed and she organised for her friends to come and for ppl to drive us right??? And then a few days ago she was like… there’s free time from 11PM till 6AM so we’re gonna go then is that alright?? And then I was like omg!! I have my first day of work the next day!!! But I told her I’d go already and it was actually quite far away so she had to organise a lot for ppl to drive and stuff and I felt like it was wasting ppl’s money if I left early so I was just like alright whatever bring it on!! So then yeah, they asked me what I was gonna do until work right? And I said I didn’t know so they were like… oh then let’s hang out until then!! But like they were kinda dead tired already so we all ended up stoned at Maccas without really talking HAHAHA Like two of them started dozing off and then one of them had a really tired look and kept looking at the photos she took that night as if it was a dream or something… and then she just kept daydreaming HAHAHA But yeah then at 9 AM I had to leave right? coz I had to take a shower and get some documents ready and check the address of my work (Actually I forgot where my work was!!) So yeah then I went to shower and then when I came out I went to check the address of my work right??? ANDDD I FELL ASLEEP!!!! Like I didn’t even lie my head down, I was typing away on the computer and I fell asleep!!!!! OMG!!! And I had to be in Gion-shijo by 11 and I woke up at 10:30 without my documents prepared and without any clothes on (I literally went STRAIGHT to check the address after my shower) So then I was like SHIT and then rushed out the door (after putting clothes on of course). And I was dead tired so I was like… ok better not ride my bike there… so then I went to catch the train but I had to wait a long time for the next one!! >_< And then I had to change trains and I had to wait a long time for that too!!!!!! And then I finally reached Gion-shijo but I didn’t remember where the address was so I rang my friend and asked her!! And I was full sprinting and talking to her at the same time and I eventually got there 15 mins late!! 15 mins late to my first day of work!! And I was late to the interview too! omg!!!!!!!!

But yeah coz I was full sprinting I kept huffing and puffing right and the manager thought I was having a heart attack or something so she was like… calm down calm down it’s ok!!!!!! But the thing was I WAS perfectly calm! I was just huffing and puffing coz of all that running!!!!!! But yeah then the manager got my documents and then left… and I was left with my student… And I didn’t really teach him, we just kind of talked in English about random things and it was really fun!! Haha actually I told him why I was late, like how I stayed out the whole night last night and fell asleep on the computer and stuff and he found it really hilarious so he liked me a lot And then we talked about yakuza and how he got approached by gangs in America and drunk ppl in foreign countries compared to drunk ppl in Japan and lots of random things and it didn’t really feel like work at all! But I was getting paid for it and he seemed like he was having a lot of fun too!! But yeah he came all the way from Shiga and he told me that he’ll come again the next week!!

But yeah then after that my friend asked me out to go to the movies right? But they were gonna go buy tickets at 4:30 and then go have dinner right??? And I needed sleep so I told them I’d just join them for the movies… and yeah I ended up getting home at like 3 and then taking another shower and sleeping at 3:30 right?? And the movie starts at 6:40 so I put my alarm for 5 o’clock so I’d have plenty of time…. BUT I DIDN’T HEAR THE ALARM!!!!!! And then at 6:30 my friend called me and was like… where are you??? And then I was like… SHIT!!!!!!!!!!!! So then I got on my bike and rode like crazy!!!! Like for the first half of my ride there I was actually faster than the cars!! But that was coz they had to stop at the traffic lights and I didn’t… HAHAHA Like I’d ride on the road coz I didn’t have to dodge ppl so it was faster that way… but when a red light came I’d ride to the pedestrian side and jay walk… so I was continously peddling like a crazy mad man… but then eventually I got tired and I was still riding crazily as fast as I could right?? buttt.. then there was this guy next to me riding casually with one hand while talking on the phone and I was about the same speed as him… and I was like… wtf??/ I’m peddling like crazy here!! Why am I so slow????????? And I realised that I reached my physical limit! >_< But yeah my throat was DYING for water after I got there so I bought a large orange juice!! And lining and up stuff took a long time >_< Oh and I also got a hot dog for dinner! Yum!!!

Hmm and then today I went to starbucks to study with my friend!! I was studying Japanese while she was studying English right?? And she asked me things that I couldn’t explain!!! Like she asked me the difference between “The boy” and “A boy” and I can explain in English right??? But I have no idea how to explain it in Japanese!!!!!!1 >_< And yeah… I kind of kept losing concentration so I bought lots of starbucks food (I kind of always end up eating when I’m bored and have nothing to do HAHA) Actually I’m eating cookies now too!!!!!! I’m kind of already really full already but I’ve almost finished a whole packet of cookies by myself!!!!! >_<

But yeah… shit I’ve run out of money!!!!! Like remember how I lost my wallet and tranferred money to my friend using netbank and got him to withdraw it for me?? Well he did but I’ve used up all that money already!!!!!!! >_< Like I’ve literally used ALL of it up! Like I wanted to buy a cake that cost 420 yen in starbucks right but I only had 340 yen left so I had to settle for a 280 yen cake!! So now I have 60 yen until my card arrives!!!!! >_< Actually I have some 10 yen and 1 yen coins that I put away somewhere which I’d be able to use!! So I have more than 60 yen!! :D I probably have enough money to buy onigiri so I’ll just buy that for lunch tomorrow :) And I have eggs and ham so I’ll just eat that in the morning… And I have rice so I’ll just make fried rice for dinner I guess?? But yeah I should be ok :)

Saimonme camp + sushi party + random other stuff!!

So yeah the next monday I had to get my computer account right? And actually I was supposed to have a meeting for my class presentation that day but I couldn’t go coz it was the last day to get my computer account!! And because I lost my student ID I couldn’t finalise it yet so I still have to wait till I get that again… sigh.. so annoying!!  And the student IDs here aren’t computerised!! You have to bring your own photo and they literally just stick it on and laminate it… So dodgy!! I think most people think of Japan as this super high tech country where everybody uses crazy machines and stuff… well actually not really but at least computers right??? BUT THEY DON’T!!! Like they don’t even have wireless on campus… nor in my dorm… and there aren’t really that many computers and there’re ALWAYS free computers for you to use… But yeah… I wrote a questionnaire up for a group project on word right??? And they were confused by the formatting and were like how the hell did you do this?? I can’t do it!! (They had to translate it to Jap), and I was like… err all I did was use bullet points and columns… and you don’ t have to redo the whole thing you can just highlight my text and type Japanese in… and then they were like WHOAAAAaa! well not really that much but yeah… Hmm but yeah then I went to a meeting for Saimonme camp! And we talked about a lot of things but I didn’t really understand and I wasn’t really listening either… HAHAHA But yeah omg Japanese ppl are SOOO diff from aus ppl… like in aus, well at least in the club meetings I’ve been to, people don’t really give much input and it’s really unorganised and like a lot of the time people who are supposed to have organised something don’t and just show up and say sorry I couldn’t think of anything right??? And then half the people don’t listen and they just doodle and it’s just really really inefficient… but Japanese meetings are the opposite! EVERYBODY is really focused, and they ALL take notes and stuff whenever a point is made, even if it has nothing to do with them (e.g. something about somebody else’s role), and they are all quiet and focused and listening but I couldn’t really understand them so I was like staring at the wall and rocking on my chair and stuff and the leader stared at me and was like… are you ok?? :O:O:O hahaha

Hmm then on Tuesday I went to a tennis circle called Yaya’s practice!! I sent mail to the circle leader guy before saying that I couldn’t really speak Japanese that well and if it’d still be ok to come, and he said yeah of course!! But then I met him and we started going to the tennis court place together but he was really really nervous and didn’t speak much, which I didn’t really mind. But then 5 mins or so later he started talking to me just to break the silence, in really really simple Japanese, and I spoke back right? And then he was like OH!!! So you CAN speak Japanese!! I was really nervous and was like… do I have to try to speak English??? but I can’t!! shit!!!!! haha but yeah I said it was ok, I can speak broken Japanese :D And then he relaxed up and started talking to me more HAHAHA

Hmm but yeah we got to the tennis courts early and then one of the girls there was like… OMG!! DO YOU REMEMBER ME?? I GAVE YOU THE YAYA LEAFLET THING!! and I was like… oh yeah I do!!!! And then she got really happy and stuff… hahaha but yeah Yaya’s practice is pretty dodgy too… and the players are pretty dodgy too… sigh… butttt then afterwards we went to eat hamburg right?? And Yaya people are actually really fun! Usually the first time I go to a circle they always try to make a big deal out of me and like keep asking me about Australia and how is Japan and stuff… and this group did too but we talked about a lot of normal things normal Japanese ppl would talk about too and it was fun!

And then that night I came back and went to see fireflies with my exchange student friends + random Japanese ppl who can speak English!! I’m not really the type to get excited by seeing fireflies but it was fun walking and talking to ppl!!! But I drank a bit (only a lil bit!!) and wanted to go to the toilet right?? And I kept holding it in and holding it in and holding it in and then they said we were gonna go back so I was like… YES!!! But then after that they kept staying and talking and I was like… omg!!!!!! But yeah eventually… after a long long time we eventually did start heading back but I couldn’t walk at such a slow pace anymore so I was like powerwalking!! And my friend needed to go to the toilet too so she followed me… she didn’t need to go as much as I did though… so she found it really funny and kept laughing but it was like torture to me!!!!!! >_< Actually nah it wasn’t that bad I found it funny too!! hahahaha but yeah then we got back and I took a really long and comfortable piss and felt a lot better after that ^_^

And then on Wednesday I went to a job interview!!! And… I’m usually REALLY good at interviews… like I go there early and put all my documents and stuff in folders and stuff and pretend to be all organised, and I sit down and speak really friendly and confidently and keep smiling at the interviewer so they all end up liking me and hiring me… HAHAHA BUTTTT this time was different, coz I don’t have a printer at home so I had borrow somebody’s library card (coz I lost my wallet) to print my resume at uni, and that took way longer than I expected, mostly because I had to take photos of myself but I didn’t have the phone cable so I had to email myself but then the reception was dodgy and then even after I got good reception it wouldn’t send properly for some reason and then I had to rush back to get my working permission documentation, but I couldn’t find it and I was like NSDIOGfnDOIFnIODFnIOFndsIOF and then… I rushed to the train station and the next train was in 6 mins… and I was like… ok 6 mins I have enough time to buy a drink from the conbini next door, which was like 10 secs walk away… but yeah then I came back and the train JUST arrived so I was like… good good, just in time!! But then I put my train ticket in, AND IT GOT STUCK AND WOULDN”T COME OUT!!! So then I was like WTF and kept like smashing the ticket machine to make it come out and stuff right??? but then after 20 secs I was like shit it’s no use! Better run for the train anyway I can pay from there too! but just as I started running it went >_<

But yeah then I was late… and it was pouring right? and I didn’t have time to do my hair either and I seriously looked like a bum or something… and I made up some excuse about not being used to trains coz I use bicycles all the time and got off at the wrong station, even though the real reason was a lot better as an excuse, but it sounds too unrealistic… hahaha and the interviewer was like I’m not used to Kyoto either so that’s why I came a bit earlier… and then I was like >_< But yeah then I did the interview and afterwards I wanted to eat right??? But I didn’t have enough money coz I lost my wallet so I had nothing except my spare change that I left around the house…. and I kept wanting to buy something to eat and then walking home from shijo… but then I was like… nah that’s really stupid… coz my friend I talked about in my previous post actually messaged me earlier that day and said he has my money… so I was like ok ok I’ll just go back and get my money then eat…. So then I did :O

Hmm and then on Thursday I went to get ID photos for my student ID and stuff… buttt… I ALMOST LOST MY WALLET AGAIN!!! Sigh this time I left it in my bike basket and I was like wtf?? where’s my wallet??? But sigh something is seriously wrong with me recently… I just can’t concentrate… but yeah luckily I found it :D:D:D Hmm and then that night I went to iAT again coz remember last week how I said that guy from the tennis circle said he had something to talk to me about tennis circle?? well I came this week coz I wanted to hear what he wanted to talk about… BUT HE DIDN’T SAY NETHING!! DFFnFdiODFfdsfdsf But yeah I met somebody from switzerland who randomly met this Kyoudai person coz he was asking him where he could play Judo… and that was quite interesting!

Hmm and then on Friday I went to Yaya’s nomikai!! The nomikai was strange… like… throughout the whole nomikai they don’t really talk… they just keep finding excuses to make people drink… like it’s called “call” or something… and they just find random excuses like pretty much they find something people have in common like people from osaka or something then they drink to that… or they make people drink if they do something stupid.. or they might just say I want him to get drunk… but yeah they didn’t really talk AT ALL! But they chant random things with random actions while “calling” people though! Hmm but then they eventually ran out of alcohol and then this girl sat next to me and kept talking to me right?? And because of that people thought I was a massive player!! But SHE was the one who came up to me!! Like after we finished she stuck with me and stuff right?? And then this group of guys was like… how do you say boob and nipple in English?? So I told them right??? And then they were like haha you’re a pervert!! And then I was like… nonono I’m really innocent!! but omg!! THEY were the ones who asked me! what was I supposed to say?? :O:O:O And then THEY started talking more about perverted things like AV and what they want to do and stuff  and I laughed at them right?? and coz of that they said I was a perverted player!! >_< They were just joking though… but that kind of scared the girl who kept sticking to me… I think maybe that’s what they intended to do in the first place  HAHA

Hmm and then on Saturday I went to Saimonme camp!! I didn’t get much sleep the night before right?? So I was really really tired and wasn’t really the friendly smiley Kevin I usually am… so then I just slept on the bus and walked silently by myself to the campsite and stuff right?? And I started to understand why a lot of my friends complain about how they can’t make Japanese friends… being friendly and smiling a lot and looking happy makes a HUGE difference, I guess that applies everywhere though… Hmm but yeah… I realised how weird Saimonme people are at camp… like I love playing with children so I really like saimonme right? But at this camp it was just Saimonme members and no kids… and they made a lot of lame jokes only 5 yrs old would find funny and danced kiddy dances and sang kiddy songs and got all excited and high doing it… and I was like.. wtf????? But yeah I was in the cooking group so I had to help prepare stuff right?? Actually EVERYBODY cooks, the cooking group just decides the menu and prepares stuff… so I had to make lots of boxes and wrap them up and hand out the kitchen utensils appropriately and stuff.. hmm but yeah then we made curry!!! ANDDDDD it was burnt!! >_< But yeah everybody said it was yummy anyway… as if!! It was burnt!! But yeah it was edible :) And then at night we had a campfire! And this guy went topless and started doing all these fire tricks and stuff it was crazy!! (Check my facebook photos) Oh but yeah on our way there we had a trail of fire and they were all quietly humming this really scary tune and I felt like I was in some cult or something and we were gonna commit suicide… it was kinda scary!!!!!!!! But yeah then we got there and they resumed theirkid jokes/acts/dances HAHA Buttt the funny thing is after they did all that kiddy stuff we all went back to drink!!! Andddd they all said… let’s party till morning!! We won’t sleep!! so I was like yeah ok!! But… only like only 3-4 ppl ended up staying up the whole night… HAHAHA But yeah… I was at another nomikai on Friday and didn’t get much sleep either right?? So after 2 nights of no sleep I was exhausted!!

Anddd then on Sunday morning we made somen for breakfast right?? But somehow they managed to make it more like mochi than somen… and it was really disgusting!!! But yeah… when we were making it I kept dozing off midway through doing something… and we were supposed to go hiking afterwards right?? And I was like… oh shit.. if I go hiking and doze off and fall down the cliff then I’d die!! So I was like… ok ok maybe I shouldn’t go… and went to sleep while they were hiking :O But yeah I think I slept for an hr or something and then I helped people pack up But yeah then we went back… and there was no keitai reception at the place I went to right?? So I couldn’t reply to my messages (I didn’t even get them!!) and some people got annoyed at me!! >_<

And then on Monday I didn’t do anything special… I don’t think… so I just went home and made Yakiniku!!!

And then on Tuesday I found out about this international party thing right?? Like I wasn’t even gonna go… but ppl told me there’s free food so I was like OOOOOO so then I went… hahaha and it was really big!! I didn’t expect it to be that big at all!!! ANDDD they had SOOOOOOOOoooo much food!! It was really yummy!!! But yeah then I found a lot of my international student friends and my Japanese teachers and I met a lot of people in the dance circle too!! So I’m glad I went to that! And then afterwards I went to the river to drink with some of my friends… and then most of them had to go back to Ohbaku… and I was left with two ppl, one who works at the foreign student division and takes care of exchange students, and some researcher (I think)… but yeah that felt kind of weird but it was interesting… hahaha]

Hmm and then tonight we had a sushi party!! I was the organiser right?? but it was really unorganised… like I sent messages to ppl asking them to tell me if they’d come or not… and like half of them didn’t reply… So then I had to guess who would probably come… and then ring them to confirm… but yeah sushi’s actually way more complicated to organise than something like okonomiyaki… coz there are so many different ingredients and sushi has so many different steps and waiting time too!! But it was still fun after a while!!! :D:D Oh yeah!! And a friend of mine from Doshisha who works at a sushiya taught me how to make nigiri sushi!!!!

SHIT I LOST MY WALLET SDFDFDSFsDFgSDGFDSF

Hmm so yeah on Friday night I went the Doshisha nomikai my friend helped host right??? And I didn’t know anybody except my friend so I met a lot of Doshisha people!! And it was kind of a bit strange coz they were all 3rd yr or 4th yr so I was one of the younger ones :O:O Well I’m 3rd yr too but I looked the youngest HAHAHA… like one of the girls said I seem like a lil bro to her and then she asked me how old I was… and then she was like… omg me too!! :O:O HAHAHA Oh yeah Korean people have this friend age range thing… like my newly met korean friend told me about how people 3 yrs or older can’t be her friends or something HAHAHAHAHAA. She said something about how she can still be close to them, but she can’t be their friend…. so luckily I’m still in her range! Friend range that is!! But yeah… actually everybody seemed really shy and polite and stuff… like they were supposed to be in the same class, but they were super polite to each other and things seemed really awkward, so I talked about some funny things and made them ease up a bit ^_^ Oh! And we didn’t have nomihoudai and tabehoudai for once!!! So that was kind of good, I didn’t have to overeat and overdrink There was only a LITTLE bit of food left over, which I finished off for them ^_^ Haha and yeah one of the jap guys got really drunk and kept talking to me about chicks… haha it’s strange coz I was sitting at a pretty gender-mixed table before, and HE was  the one who wanted to swap places so he put me in a table full of chicks, and then everybody was really quiet and stuff and it was getting awkward so I started talking about stuff I don’t even remember what I talked about but everybody was having fun and laughing and stuff then the drunk guy who put me on that table in the first place thought I was massive player!! Oh but that was also coz my friend from Doshisha was with me the night before and she kept talking about how I was supposedly picking up those chicks… but OMG AS IF! All I did was react to them talking about me! Sighhh I need to protect my image! I am innocent!!!

Hmm but yeah on Saturday it was the Sign Language Circle’s nomikai!!! And omg! Sign language circle people are even weaker than volunteer circles!! BUT they control themselves so it didn’t really seem like a nomikai, coz everybody just drank juice, which I’m perfectly fine with I don’t really like alcohol that much neway… buttttt it was too quiet!! Like usually even if I go to restaurants with friends we talk about weird and funny things and it’s fun right?? But it was too quiet that night! Ohh!! But there was this fortune telling thing on the paper chopstick wrapping!! And I got the best one!!! Apparently it’s a good time for me to propose for a wedding now! Woot!! OH! I didn’t have to finish off leftovers for people!! The sign language circle ppl thought it was a waste to leave food and like everybody tried to finish off the food, so I like the way sign language circle ppl think BUTTTTTT It was really quiet and there wasn’t really anything to do and whenever I have nothing to do and there’s food in front of me I always just eat and eat and eat and eat and eat… and it was like ALL deep fried food so I was fully stuffed in the end!! >_< BUT yeah omg!!! it’s not only when I have food in front of me… but when I have nothing to do I actually GO and find food and eat it… even if I’m not hungry… :O:O:O And I’ve had a lot of free time between classes and stuff recently so I’ve just been eating and eating and eating and eating and eating… sigh! Oh like they used to sell these small mochi ice cream things called yukimi daifuku at the convenience store next to my dorm right??? BUT THEY DON’T NEMORE!!! So I have to satisfy my ice cream cravings with HUMUNGOUS ice creams instead!! And they’re not as yummy as yukimi daifuku either! Like they’re not actually that yummy… >_< Hmm but yeah anyway… I went to this international party thing after the nomikai right?? And it was so hard to find!!! But eventually I found it… and these random ppl asked me for help coz their friend was lost… but I had no idea either so I found somebody from my dorm and we went together to pick up their friend… and they got really excited when they found out my name was Kevin coz apparently they had a friend called Kevin from Australia before too… and then they all wanted to be my friend and stuff… :O Hmm and then I met other ppl too but I’ve already forgotten about them HAHAHAHA Yeah I thought the party was kinda dodgy so I went off to buy yukimi daifuku… There is ONE conbini I found that sells them still!! But yeah then I found that conbini.. and I was like… oh shit how do I get back again?? and I was like screw it never mind it’s dodgy neway… so then I just went back home :)

Hmmm and then on Sunday I just stayed home I think….. oh but my friend came to give me back stuff I lent her so that she could make a bday cake for my friend (remember that french guy’s surprise bday cake?? That one!) And then we were talking for a while right and then we bumped into two friends of mine… and they thought that I had a thing for that girl even though she was the one who came to give me back my stuff… so I was like wtf?? oh and she doesn’t have a thing for me either coz she has a bf.. but yeah sigh it’s not just her… like sometimes I just walk out of class and happen to be talking to a girl at the time and then ppl always think I have this thing going on and tease me about it afterwards and then I’m like wtf?? Haha actually I don’t know what’s making them think that… but like remember ATA the gyaru circle thing? Well I was sitting with them one time and then this girl I hadn’t met before came to sit with us… and then she said something funny or something so I looked at her and started smiling… and then she had this like wtf expression on her face and then her friends were like oh it’s Kevin so it’s ok… and then she was like oh!! and then eased up and kept smiling… Haha yeah ppl treat foreigners so nice here!! Like one time I was riding my bike with a group of other ppl on the footpath right?? And then this random old guy started shouting angrily at us and then he decided to pick me out and asked me… DON’T YOU UNDERSTAND??? and I didn’t right?? so I was like… err… no? And then I could see his face go full red and he was about to explode or something and I thought it was really funny but yeah then I was like… yeah I don’t understand Japanese… and then he was like OH!!!!!!!!! And then relaxed and laughed and then started patting me on the back and he said ganbatte!! Haha that was so funny!!

Hmmm but yeah anywayyyyy, hmm monday… oh yes! on monday I went had a grammar test!! And I thought grahhh I’m gonna fail for sure!!! BUTTT the test questions were exactly the same as the classwork questions… so I didn’t fail… but I didn’t really feel good passing a such a retarded test… so I told myself I’d study harder from now on! Well it’s Sunday already and I’ve yet to study harder but I will in the future! Maybe!! Hmm and then after the test I wanted to find a job teaching English right?? And my friend told me that she’d introduce me to her dance teacher coz she wants to learn English!! But I also went to shijo to find English conversational schools but then I went to one and they told me I had to apply online.. and that they only accept full time ppl… so I was like >_< But yeah then I just went to starbucks to study right?? And I brought my laptop with me coz I study like 99999x more efficiently with laptop… and I plugged my laptop on their powerpoint… and then I was told that the staff were really shocked and they told me in really polite keigo that I couldn’t use it!! >_< But yeah so then I just worked on my laptop on my batteries :O

Hmmm but yeah then on Tuesday I went to that Klexon international circle thing again… and I met a lot of new ppl again… and we usually go to a pub afterwards right?? So I did and then one of the guys said that her friend said she was interested in me and regretted not asking me my number… and then I was like… :O:O:O:O:O Yeah but I think he just meant she wanted to be my friend or something coz she’s like an OL! So I was like yeah alright… I’ll give her my number then… oh but then I was walking to my bike right?? And this other OL told me that she wanted to talk to me more so she went with me to get my bike even though she had to walk back to get hers! :O:O But yeah I guess it’s coz Japanese ppl don’t really have much of a chance to meet foreigners that much…

Hmm… and then on Wednesday I went to my friend’s concert!!! It was only in a small room and it was really packed!!! And I was behind a lot of ppl and my friend’s really short right so I had trouble seeing her!! HAHA But it was ok if I tippy-toed… hahaha but my friend who was even shorter than me couldn’t see her at all!! So I was lucky :) But yeah she looks really different when she’s playing music!! So focused!! But yeah that was fun :) And then afterwards I went to my uni’s food court to eat right?? And my friend had to tidy up the room and stuff so I went by myself… and I thought I’d be just sitting there quietly eating dinner by myself which I don’t mind, actually I do that all the time… butttt it wasn’t the case at all!! I bumped into soooo many people!!! Like I bumped into one person who was with a friend and he told me that his friend is gonna open up a kebab shop at my uni’s food court!! So I told him I’d buy his kebabs and he told me that I can be the manager of the Tokyo section once he gets rich and sets up a chain all over Japan HAHAHA… Hmm but yeah not just him! I bumped into Blueberry people too! Like they just finished tennis practice, so the whole group was there, and they all got really excited and happy and waved to me and stuff!! ANDD!! I saw ATA people too, and they just finished tennis practice too!! ANDDDD I saw a lot of people I hadn’t seen for AAAAAAAAGES coz I’ve only gone to their tennis practice once, and then the rest of the time I just randomly bump into ppl… oh except for bowling I went to bowling too… but yeah usually I just bump into Kyoto uni ppl right??/ but the whole group was there that time… and one of the girls got really really really excited and started jumping up and down and talking really fast like a kid and she was like Kevin Kevin!!!! remember me remember me???? And I DID remember her but I didn’t remember her name right??? Like I remember her telling me that her bday’s close to mine so we can have our bday party together, and that she is REALLY REALLY good at tennis!! But I just didn’t remember her name… so I was like… yeah I remember you! And then she was like what’s my name?? and then I was like… err…… but yeah then this other person came and started talking to me and that friend of mine thought I totally forgot about her when she was so excited to see me and felt sad and left… >_< But I did remember her!! omg!! sigh…. Hmm but yeah then the other person who came and talked to me asked me if I remembered his name… and I didn’t… except this guy from ATA taught me that all guys are アナル and all girls are まんこ, so I said… ummm… アナル？？and then he was like eh?????? and was really shocked :O:O:O And then one of the girls said I was さいてい which is a bad thing… haha damn!! Hmm but everybody else laughed… hahahaha hmm but then after a while I remembered his name right??/ Like it sounds something like cock so he just told me to call him cock… and then I was like… OH!!! Your name is cock right???? And he was like yeah!!! And then he started saying HUGE COCK!! HAHAHAHA But yeah I kind of felt bad for that girl coz she was really upset that I didn’t remember her when I actually did… and actually I wanted to play tennis with her coz the practice here is shit, like there are just way too many ppl and like 1 or 2 courts and they just end up throwing balls at you and it’s just stupid. Like a lot of ppl are really crap, and they go to tennis circles for the nomikais, actually tennis circles have a reputation as nomikai circles, and that’s why a lot of ppl are against them. I’m actually ok with nomikai circles… I mean people usually join uni clubs/circles to meet friends right? And if crazy nomikais are your thing then why not?? BUTTT I don’t understand why they put themselves through 2-3 hrs of hitting tennis balls thrown at you when they obviously have no interest in tennis! Like I like tennis, and I can tell that that girl I was talking about loves tennis too, so I wanted to hire courts myself and rally with her, but for the other ppl why don’t they just have a nomikai circle and screw the pretence with the tennis?? I just don’t understand!

Hmm and then on Thursday I went to that iAT international circle thing again. I wanted to go to sign language circle, but my friend had something to talk to me about tennis circle, and he wanted me to come to iAT so I said ok. But yeah that friend is really nice, he always tries really hard to help me out, and when he says he’ll do something he actually does it, well except this time he didn’t end up going to iAT but he told me beforehand that he couldn’t make it… BUTT I told other ppl that I was going to iAT and they had stuff to give back to me so I had to go anyway >_< Oh but then I had to leave early for a meeting for saimonme… I have a camp this weekend!!! ANDDDD I’m in the cooking division right? And our group is going to do this play type of thing… and I have to act as shenron in dragon ball z and speak a lot of kansai-ben :O:O Well actually only 3 lines but yeah… hahahahaha OHHHh and then we also have like camp songs and dances and stuff that we’re supposed to remember… and we were practicing right and haha omg even though it’s a volunteer circle they DO go crazy sometimes HAHA Hmm but yeah after the meeting I went to the uni food court again and I met blueberry people again!! I love it how their faces just light up when they see me, it makes me feel so happy!!

And then on Friday I had a report due!!!!! Like I wanted to finish it on Thursday night right??? but I just kept procrastinating and procrastinating and procrastinating and procrastinating and then didn’t get ANYTHING done! and I was like WTF am I doing???? Like usually when you procrastinate you at least get SOMETHING done right?? Well I didn’t get ANYTHING done! And I was like super duper tired and I was like alright I’ll just wake up early on Friday and do it then… BUT THEN I SLEPT IN DSNFIODSNFioNDFioSDNFioDNFIODSFSDF OH!!! like on Monday and Tuesday I slept in and missed my class right?? And then I got pissed off at myself and was like ok this is ridiculous, I NEED to stop doing this or I won’t get credits for my classes, so I decided to sleep on the floor coz it’s so much less comfortable than the bed and it’s so much harder for me to fall back asleep after waking up… and I also bought a radio alarm so that I can have an alarm sound where I don’t press snooze right away…. oh I know the put your alarm far away so you have to get up to turn it off trick… BUTTTTT I AM SO LAZY THAT I JUST LEAVE IT AND IT GOES OFF BY ITSELF AFTER A WHILE DNFISNFOSDFDSF But yeah… I started doing that on Wednesday right? Andddddd I still sleep in but not as much!! I’ve actually made it to all my classes so far :) So yeah I went down to my bike and my friend in the same class was there too and we were both late right??? And it was pouring and stuff so we used the pro Jap carry umbrella in one hand and ride your bike with the other thing… but he could ride so fast!!!!! Like for some reason it wasn’t my arm holding my umbrella that was tired, but it was my legs!! I think it’s coz I can’t really balance properly yet, so my legs have to work extra hard or something… well actually yeah I can… I don’t really have much problems even riding one handed now but maybe my legs still have to work more to balance or something… Hmm but yeah I didn’t have time to do my hair up on Friday right? And I bumped into some ppl and they didn’t recognise me!!!! Like they’d only know that I was Kevin after I call out to them :O:O and then they’d be like omg you’re Kevin right??? NO WAY!!!! And like I bumped into somebody in ATA right? And I was on my bike so I just nodded at him… and he was like huh???? but I was rushing to hand in my report in so I didn’t stop to explain HAHAHA but yeah I printed my report at 4:50 and had to hand it in by 5 o’clock! Like the office actually closes at 5 o’clock sharp and it was in another campus!! :O:O But yeah I went to the office and they’re usually really friendly and they’re like hi Kevin!! and talk to me a lot right?? but then I went in and then started waving at them and they were like wtf???? So yeah they were all quiet and stuff but yeah I was like yeah whatever… and then took the cover sheet by myself and filled my name in and then handed it in… and then one of the girls who usually always jokes around with me looked at my cover sheet and then had a shocked expression on her face and was all silent and stuff so then I just said bye and walked out HAHAHAA. But yeah you know how I wrote a blog entry saying I needed a haircut like 3 months ago or something?? Well I still haven’t had a haircut yet!! So every day I kind of have to fix it up, and after I fix it up it looks ok… like I can go out… but on Friday I realised that maybe I shouldn’t go out without doing my hair nemore… ppl just get too shocked HAHAHAHA Well actually I dont’ always do my hair up… it just depends on how I wake up… sometimes it’s ok HAHA Well Friday was especially bad coz I played badminton and got all sweaty and it was pouring too so maybe Friday was just especially bad… hahaha but yeah it was kind of interesting giving everybody a shock :O:O But it’s not just me… I reckon pretty much all guys look really different with different hair :O Well asian guys do… like I see a lot of celebs and their diff hair styles and some just suit them SOOOOOOOO much more than others… Hmm but yeah even after trying to fix it up my hair is getting messier and messier… I need to get a new haircut soon!! But I don’t know where!! >_< Oh yeah people kept talking to me about dyeing my hair, especially ATA ppl coz they pretty much all have dyed hair, and actually I DO think dyed hair looks better on MOST people buttttt I don’t think black looks that bad on me either and I MIGHT look better with dyed hair but most ppl here think I’m really innocent HAHAHAHA and I think that if I dyed my hair I’d lose that image!!! Oh and a lot of Kyoto Uni ppl are like the really serious type… and they always say how natural is always the best…  So I think I’ll keep my hair black Oh yeah… you know how I felt sorry for that ATA girl who got all excited seeing me but got really sad when I didn’t remember her name?? Well I messaged an ATA friend of mine who I had on my contact list and asked her when ATA was eating there again… coz I wanted to explain to her that I DID remember her and her birthday and that she’s really good at tennis… and she told me that they’d be there again on Friday… but coz it was raining practice got cancelled!!! >_< So yeah then I just went home after handing the report in

HMm and then yeah on Saturday I went to my friend’s birthday party!! We went to this nomihoudai place again… sigh… well actually I didn’t drink that much I only drank like 3 drinks… but I had to finish food off again >_< Yeah and the ppl at the party were all like postgrad students or researchers so they were all like…. wow you’re 20??? SO YOUNG!!! and I was like err yeah… And I found out that a lot of ppl in my Japanese class are actually married and I was like whoa~!!!!!!!!!! Like they’re not really that old, like a lot of them are like 25ish, but they’re married already so I’m like whoa~!! And one of them got married when she JUST turned 21! Which is like me in a few months! Whoa I can’t imagine myself getting married so early :O:O:O Maybe that fortune telling advice thing I got is telling me to do something!! haha just jkzz as if I’d get married so early!! Hmm but yeah then we were supposed to go out clubbing… and we got separated coz somebody called my friend out to give her her present… and then some other ppl went to the conbini to get a drink… but yeah my friend told us that we (the ppl not doing nething) could go in first… but two others weren’t doing nething either right?? But they said nah it’s ok we’ll wait… so we were gonna wait till the ppl came back from the conbini… but they TOOK ONE FUCKING HOUR TO BUY THEIR DRINK WTF!! Well they didn’t do anything wrong like they didn’t tell us to wait for them but still… like I was with the two other ppl waiting right??? And I didn’t really know either of them that well and they STARTED ARGUING with each other so I was like uhh yeah ok I don’t want to get involved so I just stood there by myself… but after one hour I just didn’t feel like it nemore. Like they didn’t tell us to wait for them so they didn’t do anything wrong and I felt sorry for the birthday girl coz she actually told us to go in first, but still I just didn’t feel like nemore… so yeah I went home when they came back and were about to go in!! :O:O

Hmm and then today I met up with one of my friends for dinner! I met him and his wife through Klexon (the international circle) right?? And he made some comment about Kyoto University girls on facebook and I was like… OH! You go to Kyoudai too??? and he was like yeah!! and then got all excited and invited me out to dinner.. just when I thought I had a Sunday free for once… well I don’t really mind, going out is fun too haha… but yeah… we went to like an old ppl’s restaurant… like it was a really small restaurant which actually seemed to be like inside somebody’s house… and all the customers were really old!!! And they all started talking to us right?? and my friends were foreigners who couldn’t speak Japanese so I was translating for them even though I couldn’t really translate properly and it was kind of fun hahahaha… but yeah my friend kept commenting on the young waitress there and how she seemed like a statue or something but I was like yeah of course, she prob can’t speak english and doesn’t know what to do and is just scared… plus everybody here are old geezers so they’re not really her type either haha but she was just standing there staring at the ground it was kind of funny HAHA She did that like the whole 1.5 hrs we were there!! HAHAHA But yeah!! Then we went to pay right?? AND I COULDN’T FIND MY WALLET!!! NDFNSDFOINSDOIFNDSF Lucky my friends were there with me so they covered the bill for me… but SHIT! I LOST MY WALLET!! I think what happened was that I went down to my bike but then I was like whoa it’s kind of chilly… I’ll go get my jacket… but coz I only had to go upstairs and that takes like 2 mins or something I just left my bag on my bike… and then somebody probably stole my wallet in those 2 mins… >_< grah it’s so annoying!!!!!!! Like of course losing your money’s bad… but I also lost my credit card… like of course there’s the risk of ppl using your credit card… but what’s even worse is that that’s the only way I get my money here… like I always just use that card at the ATM and get cash that way… so I have no way of getting cash… >_< So like I kept looking and looking and looking for my wallet and asking heaps of places and none of them had it… oh and I was looking through the public bins too in case I accidentally threw it inside.. and ppl were looking at me as if I was a homeless bum looking for food!! As if I need to do that in Japan! I can just eat free samples!!! Actually nah they don’t really have free samples around my area which is kind of sad >_< Maybe I WILL have to end up looking through the bins for food coz I don’t have any access to cash!!!! >_< But nahhh I sent my AUS friend money through netbank and he’s going to help me withdraw it…. so I should be fine until a replacement card comes The way he takes money out is a big ripoff though!!! He has to pay like 5% or so fees when my usual way has no fees!!!!!! >_< But yeah… I think I’m the only one in Kyoto Uni who can lose his wallet and then calm down after a few hrs and write a blog entry HAHAHA. Well like I figured I’ve done all I can… well not really I need to go to the police station and tell the reception ppl at my dorm too.. but the reception ppl aren’t here and the police were on patrol when I went to the police station a few hrs ago… so there’s not really nething else I can do now… and plus I’ve organised my money… so yeah I just figured that there’s no point getting frustrated nemore so I just stopped Oh but apparently there are a lot of cases where people take your cash but they return all your cards and documents and stuff though!! So that’d be nice!!! Tomorrow is the last chance I have at getting a Kyoudai email and computer account… so I hope I don’t need my student ID card or my library card!!! I know I need my student number.. and I’ve forgotten that but I’m pretty sure I can find out from the foreign exchange office so I’ll just go there early (which means I’ll have to wake up early!!!!!!!!! I hope I can!!!!!!!!!)

Oh yeah and Alice said I have to say that she’s awesome… so yeah she is… if you dont’ know who alice is don’t worry… she’s not even in Japan and isn’t relevant to this post at all HAHA

五月病…. No I don’t have swine flu!!

Hey all~!!! I know you haven’t heard from me for a while but I haven’t died from swine flu… yet!! Nah actually I reckon everybody just overreacted and the government told all the schools to close for preventative measures… like there wasn’t really a big problem to begin with… BUTTTT kyoudai decided to ignore that and we still had class while everybody had holidays!!!! >_<

But yeah anyway continuing from my last post… the next day I was supposed go to play with orphans again… buttttt it was raining and I couldn’t really use an umbrella while riding a bike yet so I was like screw it… I’ll just stay home and study… and then I remembered that I turned down 2 nomikais from 2 different circles on that day too so I was thinking about going to one of those… but then I was like nahhh I’ve been to too many nomikais recently my body needs a break… so then just as I thought I’d take it easy and just rest and study for the day (wait… as if studying is taking it easy!!), but yeah, just as I was about to do that, my friend calls me and asks me to go to Karaoke with her and her friend (the one who went up to me and said she read my blog)… but yeah she told me to write about them so I did… happy? hahahaahahah But yeah anyway… if you know me, you know that I usually don’t really like Karaoke in Aus that much right?? Like it’s coz it’s so stuffy in those noise-proof rooms and you can’t breathe properly and on top of that you have to sing which makes it even worse and I just get headaches and have to end up going to the toilet for a breather every 5 mins… BUTTTTTT in this one they had air-con!! So it was a lot better!! yay!!! Oh that was my first time to Karaoke in Japan btw… after like 3 months of being here!!! OH BUT YEAH!! like I forgot it was raining right? So I went out and saw it raining and I was like SHIT I FORGOT ABOUT THIS!!! But I agreed to go already so I tried holding my umbrella in one hand and riding my bike with the other like jap ppl do… ANDDDDD I could actually ride!!! BUTTTTT not well so I crashed >_<

And then on Sunday I went to Kansai University for this combined uni sign language session thing!! And we had to write name cards right?? So I wrote Kevin on mine and then everybody in the room kept staring at me and talking about me :O:O:O:O But yeah then I had to give self-intros to everybody in sign language and then they were like ohhhhh so he’s from Australia!!! But yeah they all liked me and it was really fun!! Like none of them have hearing problems I don’t think… and when they talk to each other usually they just talk normally… but at Kyoudai’s sign language circle, even when they talk to each other they like to add sign language in, so they use sign language while speaking… so they’re a lot more fluent in their sign language than people in other unis and I was really impressed!! It’s a bit weird when they use sign language all the time though… HAHAHA But yeah we played like twister and life, the board game, and there was like a sign language twist to it… like the instructions were given in sign language and then you have to do sign language tasks and stuff… and it was quite fun! And the more knowledgable people taught beginners like me a lot of new words ^_^ And then when we were going back, I bought some ice cream right?? And then I kept licking it and saying it was oishii and everybody else got jealous and wanted to buy one!! But then the train came before they could so then I brought my ice cream into the train and enjoyed it in front of them ^_^ But… it wasn’t really that yummy actually… like I got vanilla ice-cream but it tasted weird… and I told them in the end and they found it really funny!! Butttt the cone was nice!!! But yeah then they asked me a lot of questions about Australia and stuff but then I had to leave before long… >_<

Hmmm and then it was really interesting on Monday!!! I received mail during the day… from one of the people whos names I didn’t remember… but this time that person actually wanted to ask me for a favour!!! Like… I got a message saying, “Are you free after school today? I have something to ask of you…” And then I was like… OMG!! Who is this again???? and then I was like… OMG IS THIS A GUY OR A GIRL?? (I know you can tell from the name, but I couldn’t) And then I was like… OMG… is this person asking me out?????????? But I don’t even know who he/her is!!! But yeah… I had another meeting at 7 and uni finishes at 6 right?? So I had time anyway so I agreed just in case it was something genuine… and then I went to the meeting place (I knew that I’d probably know the person’s face… just not their name so I thought it’d be ok…) but yeah then I saw a friend of mine so I started talking to her right?? And then this other guy I knew came up to me and then joined in even though he didn’t know the person I was talking to… so then in my head I was like… uhhh… so this is him I suppose??? And then after he just stood there in silence for 5 mins while I was talking to my other friend I realised… ok… so it IS him!! and then I said… ok let’s go!! and then he asked me to help me check his english email! So it was genuine!!!!!!!!! Hmm and then afterwards we had a meeting for the cooking group in Saimonme camp (yeah we have a camp with the kids in Saimonme!! Oh and one without them too!!! and I chose to be in the cooking group) and that was kind of interesting…. well not really coz I couldn’t understand what they were saying in the meeting HAHAHAHA

And then on Tuesday I went to this party at this Saimonme person’s house! And they’re all Japanese and it’s a volunteer circle so they’re all really weak and got drunk really easily!!! Oh and one of the girls drank too much the night before and her voice changed and it sounded like she breathed in helium or something and it sounded really funny!!! HAHAHA But yeah then she got drunk and started saying weird things to me HAHA well actually she wasn’t really that drunk… But yeah then I went to mos burger and ate a burger coz I hadn’t had dinner yet… and it was really yummy!! And then heaps of people started collapsing and stuff and I laughed and took pics of them HAHAHA

Hmm and then on Wednesday I was supposed to go play with the orphans again… buttt I had a presentation the next day and had to stay home to work on it… >_< But… then I just ended up procrastinating hahaha… so then I had to do it during the day on Thursday!! Like we had a group meeting… but nobody did anything in the group meeting so then I had to do it by myself coz I had the periods in between free… but yeah I don’t have a computer account on the kyoudai comps yet right??? But luckily I bumped into someone and she logged into her acct for me before she left… so then I was using that and I saw somebody who looked familiar…. and then I was like… OH!! She’s one of the girls from ATA (the gyaru/gyaru-o tennis circle) except she looks diff because she doesn’t have makeup on!! So yeah then I looked at her and she looked at me back… and I was like… hmm why isn’t she saying hi?? and then after a while I was like… fine!! I’ll go over to her and see if she says nething! So then I sat next to her… and she just stared at me…. but then quickly escaped to the toilet so then I was like wtf??? But I logged off that comp already and I was gonna get that friend from ATA to lend me her account after I spoke to her right? So I couldn’t use the computer and just sat there waiting for her to get back… so then she got back right?? and then I said… you’re from ATA right??? And then she was like… no???? And then I was like OH SHIT!!!!!!!!!!!!! But then I didn’t have an account to work on my presentation so then I asked what I should do and she didn’t know!! But like she saw me on the computer before.. like I was opposite her… and I looked at her before coz I thought she was my friend… and then I sat next to her and started talking to her so she got really scared!!! Like I could tell so I was like…. SHITTT ok I’m just gonna go now HAHAHAHA So then instead of doing my presentation I went to the convenience store and started reading magazines to wait for her to leave…. and I bumped into my friend!!! And then we talked for ages and she actually had class but she said that now that she bumped into me she feels like just skipping that class and talking… coz she likes talking to the international students at Kyoudai… and we did for a bit but then I messaged people in my presentation group before to get their acct details right??? And then one of the guys was free so he found me and we went to prepare the presentation together!!! Hmm and then that night I went to sign language club!! And for one of the games I had to sign the person on my left’s name right??? And you know how I don’t usually remember people’s names?? well I had to sign the girl to the left of me’s name so I learnt how to sign her full name even though I don’t even know most other people’s first names… so she got really happy!! hahaha

Hmm and then on Friday I went with my friend to buy birthday presents for this french guy at Kyoudai’s bday!! We went to shijo and I bought him a beer mug coz apparently he loves beer…. but yeah… she wanted to make him a cake too so she bought heaps of cake making stuff!! Ohhhh and she also made him a birthday card and I live in an international dorm right?? So I went around people’s rooms getting people to sign the card for him and that was quite interesting! 

 

Then on Saturday there was this combined yakiniku birthday party thing!! It was all you can eat and all you can drink so I ate and drank a lot!!!!! Buttttt people ordered too much and there was a lot of leftover food so I forced myself to finish it off… I was sooo full!! And then after that we went to a game centre for a bit… and then we went to a nomihoudai pub (2 hrs nomihoudai for only 1000 yen!!) But yeah I went to the toilet right??? And as I was pissing in the urinals this random white guy next to me started talking to me… in English… :O:O So then I was like… wait… how did you know I could speak english??? And he was like… err I didn’t! But that’s the only thing I can speak! So then I was like… I see…. And then he wanted to shake my hands… while we were pissing in the urinals… and I was like… errr… ok maybe after we wash our hands :) Butr yeah he wanted to meet our group so I introduced him and he brought his friends over and we met a lot of people and stuff but coz there was a time limit on the nomihoudai and we came at different times the manager wasn’t really happy with that so he separated us again…

Hmm and then on Sunday we had a Korean food party!!!! And we were told to bring a dish for everyone coz there wasn’t enough food… so I made like 20 chicken katsus… You NSA ppl know how taka taught me how to make that really yummy tonkatsu he can make?? Well I changed it to chicken coz one of the ppl coming can’t eat pork and the birthday boy really likes chicken apparently… OHHH the french guy who had his combined bday party’s bday was actually on sunday!! And he didn’t know we were celebrating his bday again but we did!! Anddd my friend made him a cake right??? And I had to sneak it into my room and prepare it and everything and the french guy was there already so I had to say I was going to the toilet… but then like 20 mins later I came back and they were like…. what were you doing in the toilet??????? And like the bday guy was there so I was like… errrr I had to go take a shit and then pick up my friend… or something like that I don’t remember what I said… >_< But they say I love the toilet for some reason… like it actually started from the orphans I played with… like I dunno… I drink water a lot so I go to the toilet a lot?? maybe?? HAHAHA OHHHHHHh but I DOOOOO love Japanese toilets when it’s cold!!! They are soooooo warm and you just feel like sitting there taking a dump for the rest of the night… it’s so comfortable!! Oh but not the jet thing that shoots water up your ass… THAT is NOT comfortable Hmm but yeah we went to prepare the cake and then we lighted the candles outside the room so it wouldn’t go out right??? ANDDDDDD the bday guy went to the toilet and saw us!!! So yeah our surprised got ruined!! >_< BUTTTttt at least he wasn’t out when we brought the cake in!! Like we were actually joking about it… what if we brought the cake in and started singing happy bday only to find out he went to the toilet????? HAHAHA

Hmmm and then on monday I was actually supposed to meet a penpal from mine… Like she didn’t know I was in Japan and then I told her and then she was like omg!! you’re in Japan?? Let’s meet up!!! And I don’t know usually I don’t really like meeting ppl from the internet but we’d been mailing each other for around 2 yrs now and she didn’t seem that weird and she couldn’t really do anything to me and there are much much much much worse people I meet just randomly anyway… LIKE OMG! This one girl who I met at some circle…. like she just kept STARING AT ME UP AND DOWN and then like she came up to me and asked my name and then asked for my number straight away… and then asked if I lived alone and if I cooked and then she said she was good at cooking and she can come over and cook for me and then she kept telling me to visit her and stuff, and while she was doing that she kept looking at me up and down and that was SO GROSS!! And she had like shaved eyebrows that were starting to grow back….. and looked like she had down syndrome too….. but yeah the other people I meet aren’t as bad Hmm… but yeah anyway on monday my penpal cancelled on me!!! bitch!!! So I was kinda stuck between what to do… coz this other tennis circle (Yaya) asked me to go to their practice that day but I told them I was busy… but I also wanted to do some shopping… so I ended up doing that instead!!

Hmm and then on Tuesday I went to that Klexon thing, which is the international circle not organised by Kyoudai… but I had spare time beforehand right??? So I met my friend shizuko from kansai gaidai at starbucks… buttt I got there on time and she was half an hr late (so Australianised!!! She went to exchange in Perth and came to Sydney for holiday and that’s how I met her) But yeah I went to starbucks first… and I saw my friend from ATA!! The one who I mistook somebody else for in Kyoudai!! But this time I got it right!! And then she took me down to where two of her ATA friends were but I didn’t know them so I got to meet them but yeah they were really fun!!!! And they liked me a lot too :) But yeah I actually really like ATA… like I dunno, they’re all just really outgoing and are really fun and funny and stuff… ANDDD they’re all really good friends, like I always see ATA people with each other… and I bump into them A LOT! Haha and every time they teach me how to say a dirty word… :O Well not the girls but the guys do HAHA Hmm so yeah then I went to Klexon… and I hadn’t been for like a month right?? So I forgot where I was and got lost… >_< But yeah then afterwards we went to a bar and I met somebody who knew my friend at Kyoudai!! And she was going to Karaoke with her the next day!! ANDDDDdddd I also met somebody from Doshisha who MIGHT be going to the same party as me tonight!! I don’t know… coz she said something about a party for international students at Doshisha and I was invited by my Doshisha friend to some international party too… So yeah I was like maybe it’s the same!! And she was like yeah!!!!!!!!

Hmm and then on wednesday I went to Blueberry again… I don’t know… actually I don’t really like Blueberry that much… like at the practice they just chuck balls at you the whole time and it’s extremely boring… and then the people aren’t really that fun too… well except in nomikai when they get drunk… BUTTTT they are REALLY nice. I think Blueberry is more like the nice and quiet type people.. and they always tell me to come and I don’t know I just can’t reject their kindness HAHAHA…. Buttt I don’t think I’ll go anymore coz the membership deadline’s today and I’m not joining… bye bye blueberry!!! But yeah… out of the tennis circles I’ve gone to so far, Blueberry has shit players but the people are nice and kind, TCT has shit players too but not as shit as Blueberry, but there are a lot of outgoing people and they have crazy nomikais, KUTLS has some really good players… but there are too many people so you only get to hit balls thrown at you… ANDDD THEY ARE REALLY SERIOUS!! like you have to always shout and run and sprint and encourage people and stuff it’s crazy… Anddd the experienced ppl at ATA are really good and they get to rally and the people are really outgoing and fun but if you’re the quiet and conservative type I don’t think you’d like it… and I don’t think they’d like you either… :O

Hmm and then yesterday I went to have dinner with the rest of the UNSW ppl having their exchange in Kansai gang!! The people at Kansai Gaidai have finished their semester already right?? So they were leaving soon… and I actually had sign language circle to go to on Thursday and I told my friends I’d go but I found out they were leaving soon so I had to cancel that… Hmm but yeah I went with my friend from Doshisha coz we were both living in Kyoto and we were eating in Osaka… but I told her actually I wanted to go shopping first and we can meet somewhere afterwards… but then I went there… and she didn’t wanna buy anything, so she just stuck with me the whole time!! I don’t know… when I go shopping I just look at things really slowly and I don’t really wanna have her put up with it so we just ended up walking around doing nothing for 2 hrs HAHAHA.. oh except I ate takoyaki but then she didn’t want any so I ended up eating too much >_< But yeah then anyway we went to HEP5 to meet the rest of the UNSW gang… and I recognised one of them!! Like I hadn’t really spoken to her before… I just knew who she was coz she was a friend of friends of mine in UNSW so I see her a lot… so I called out to her and then she was like… huh>?????? well yeah she obviously didn’t recognise me… but that was really funny hahahaha hmm but yeah anyway my friend who I DID know came with 2 other ppl and then our group was complete!! And then we went to eat at a buffet… and you can order 1 thing from the special menu and then the rest you just take buffet style right? And then somebody was like… let’s just choose the things on the special menu randomly and then share… so we did… except WE DIDN’T SHARE!!!! Like they just kept taking the other stuff… and not eating the special menu stuff… like I took my share of the special menu stuff and then filled myself up with the other stuff right??? But none of them ate any of the special stuff!! Well one person took one bite of each… and somebody from the other side of the table helped finish half a plate of spaghetti… but aside from that I had to finish 4 ppl’s share AFTER I already filled myself up with other stuff coz I thought they were going to eat it… but sighhhh… why do people like wasting food so much????? I don’t know… it’s fun eating with people but I’m sick of having to finish off their leftovers and stuff myself every time… But yeah then they were like aren’t you having dessert Kevin??? And I really couldn’t fit it in… but I didn’t want them to feel bad for making me not be able to eat dessert, so I ate a bit anyway and in the end I was so sick!!!!!!! >_< and I gained 2 kgs in 1 day!!!!!!! Hmm but yeah then we wanted to take photos right?? And my friend had this photo stand thing.. so he took a photo of all of us… and I wanted to take pictures too but I don’t think he could be bothered unhooking his stand for everyone coz there were like 2-3 other cameras so he just said he’ll send the pics to us… BUTTTTt these girls on the next table were looking at us right??? So I said… can you take photos for us??? And then they were like yeah sure!!! and they did right??? Then I said thank you and everything then after that we went back to eating… BUTTTT I heard them talking about me and how they didn’t expect me to do that Japanese V pose or something and I don’t know… maybe they thought I couldn’t understand but I did so I looked at them and laughed and then they got really embarassed HAHAHA… well not really.. they just giggled a lot… But yeah omg… the UNSW girl sitting next to me said I was nanpaing them… but AS IF!! They were the one who talked about me! I was just reacting!!!!!!! And I didn’t try to get their numbers or anything anyway… I just smiled and waved at them hahahahahaha So yeah then we left the place and I said bye to those people WITHOUT asking for their numbers or even names and we went to take purikura… and then after that we went home right?? Andddd I didn’t get much sleep the night before… so I fell asleep on the train next to my Doshisha friend :O:O:O:O And then after a while I woke up right??? AND I NOTICED I WAS DROOLING IN MY SLEEP!!! So then I was like OMG!!!! and quickly wiped it off…

Hmm but yeah I slept in today >_< I set my alarm and stuff… but I slept through it… sigh… it’s not like a proper class or anything… it’s like a badminton class where we just hit around… but I’ve only gone to that class twice… and there’s been like 6 lessons or something… omg… I think it’s 五月病… like you just feel really lazy and can’t be bothered to do anything… like… I haven’t even been bothered to put my dishes away omg… like I’d wash them right?? and I wouldn’t be bothered to wipe them down or put them in their shelves or anything… and then I lose concentration when I try studying… and yeah it just sucks… butttt it’s almost June so maybe it’ll be ok :D:D

Grahhhh I have another nomikai again tonight…… they’re fun and stuff… but I’m probably gonna have to finish off ppl’s leftovers again… and then I have a nomikai again tomorrow… DNFinSDIOFnOIFoniSDfniDFnoNISDFnoisdfnIOSFonidSF At least I don’t have a nomikai on Sunday Yayyayyayyayyay :D:D:D

Break time!! = Facebook procrastination :O:O:O But still lots to write about anyway!! ^_^

Yay I can write a blog entry again!!! And it hasn’t been THAT long since I wrote my previous entry so I can write diary style again ^_^

But yeah on Saturday I went to Saimonme (the circle that plays with orphans) again right? And on Saturdays we go to the park usually and we did that again too. But yeah at this orphanage I go to the children are REALLY REALLY genki and full of energy right? And they’re always running and hitting people (like playfully hitting them) and shouting and stuff and it’s really cute!! But yeah on the way to the park this one girl, M-chan (I’m not allowed to give their actual names for privacy reasons) was like, let’s play soccer together!! So I was like… ok!! and then somehow we got separated and then when we got to the park this other girl, E-chan, was like… let’s play soccer together!! So I was like… ok! Let’s play together with M-chan! But M-chan doesn’t really like E-chan right? So E-chan kind of got rejected and then she held my hand and then took me away and then started playing soccer with me… and last time it was the opposite and M-chan took me away when I promised to play with E-chan so this time I was like yeah alright whatever I’ll play with her this time… but yeah then when we got back to the orphanage and I said bye to M-chan right? And then she gave me this death stare and gave me the finger and then I was like :O:O:O:O Like they usually joke around with me a lot and they tell me to 死ね！！ and that I am バカ and アホ and stuff but I know they’re just joking and they always laugh when they say it but this time I knew that I really hurt her this time so I kind of got a bit upset I don’t know… you know how I’m usually ALWAYS happy right? Like usually when bad things happen to me and I can just shrug it off and still be happy but when I hurt other people I feel really bad… especially children/girls >_<

So yeah there was supposed to be a nomikai afterwards right? And I was like… grah I don’t really feel like going nemore… but I promised ppl I’d go, and I HATE breaking promises, so I was like… bah yeah whatever I’ll go anyway… but yeah I don’t like showing ppl when I’m sad either so I met everybody at the nomikai with my Kevin smile and had fun and ended up forgetting about how I hurt that poor lil girl >_< But yeah this nomikai was a lot different from the nomikais I went to before!! Like this circle’s a volunteer circle that plays with orphans right, so the members are kind of more mild and more conservative and stuff… and half the people didn’t even drink!! And the other half drank… but they’re SUPER DUPER WEAK!!!! And it’s no where near as crazy as it is in the tennis circles… like both the atmosphere and the volume/speed they drink at… BUTTTttt like 5-6 guys somehow got drunk from like 1-2 drinks anyway and they all came up to the girl who sat next to me and started chatting her up… I don’t know… everybody finds her really cute for some reason… like the girl to my left kept talking about her too and she was like… you should talk to her!! and I was like err yeah ok… but like I don’t really find her that cute… haha maybe she’s ok… well she’s a nice person HAHA But yeah then I got sick of hearing all the drunk guys chatting the girl next to me up so I went around looking for leftover food HAHAHAHA Like I was already really full right?? But I’ve worked at two restaurants before and I HATE wasting food… like at the first restaurant I worked at a lot of the time customers would just take 1 bite and leave the rest and I’d have to chuck everything out and from then on I’ve HATED wasting food… so I took all the leftover food and went around and made ppl eat it HAHAHAHAHAHAHA But yeah by the time I made everybody finish the leftover food it was already time to go!! These volunteer circle people REALLY are mild!!!! We went home at like 9:30 or something!! Well they went to Karaoke afterwards but I didn’t go…

But yeah then it was Mother’s Day on Sunday right? So I left that day free so I could talk to my mum… I hadn’t talked to her for like over a month I think… hahaha but yeah I talked to her right? But then after a while I was like… ok I should optimise my time coz I’m not home that much so halfway through my call I started doing my homework, which I hadn’t really been doing… and then I went shopping for groceries and made teriyaki chicken!! Oh yeah I bought cabbage too for salad… does anybody know how to get rid of that strange taste/smell of raw cabbage??? They don’t have it in restaurant cabbage salad so I’m sure you can do it but I’ve tried washing the cabbage, I’ve tried leaving it to soak in water I’ve tried rubbing it and everything but nothing works!!! >_< But yeah I didn’t really do that much on Sunday so I spent a lot of time on facebook HAHA omg I haven’t really been on facebook much since I’ve been in Japan! But my Aus friends seem to be as addicted as ever!! They’re so obsessed with those quizzes!! Like I go on my facebook homepage and it’s like spammed with people taking quizzes and I’m like omg… >_<

Hmmm but yeah on Monday I went to a tennis circle called KUTLS, the biggest tennis circle in Kyoto University… and I had tennis class beforehand right? (The really stupid one run by Kyoto University), and like omg my tracksuit pants are way too tight now!! I like… couldn’t move!!! OMG STUPID NOMIKAIs!!! But yeah it was annoying as hell… like we had tests and stuff and I couldn’t even move properly so it was like >_< But yeah yeah then after tennis class I was like… ok there’s no way I’m going to the tennis circle like this… so I went home to change into pants for fat people, but like I was really tired coz it was hot and I didn’t get much sleep the night before even though I didn’t really do anything… plus I played tennis… so I was like screw it I can’t be bothered going home I need new pants anyway I’ll just go buy some at the nearby shopping centre… but then I went there and there were no sportswear for men!! Only women!! >_< But yeah then I was like… ok I don’t wanna have come to the shopping centre for nothing… so then I bought some ice-cream and sat down and ate it HAHAHA… but yeah then I went home and changed and then I had to go to the courts for KUTLS, but I’d never been there before and I got lost but eventually got there after a LOOOOONG time But yeah it’s so strict at KUTLS!!! Like so much more strict than the other tennis circles, but it’s like Japanese style!! Like there are these leaders who shout instructions… and I mean SHOUT. Like it was really funny… this one guy shouted too much and kept testipopping and I wanted to crack up but everybody listened to him seriously so I was like ok better not HAHAHA… but yeah like we were all standing in a circle listening to him right?? and people were like… when you’re standing in a circle you should put your hands behind your back… so I was like… err ok :O:O But yeah then they announce who does what and stuff and it’s like a rotation system… and when you’re not practicing you have to line up next to the next or at the baseline… and you have to call balls for people who are practicing… like if the ball goes in you straighten your arms and then shout NICE SHOT!!!! but in Japanese they say NICE SHO!!!! And if it’s out you point your fingers up and shout JUST, which is short for just out but Japanese people say JUSTO~!! But yeah apparently good English pronunciation is like the sex here. So they kinda got all crazy when I started saying nice shot!! and justo~!! and stuff… But yeah even when you pick up balls you have to RUN for the ball.. and by run I mean FULLY SPRINT!! Like I was walking to pick up a nearby ball right?? And the guy next to me told me when you get the ball you have to run!! and I was like… err ok… :O:O But yeah then I got hungry and then left early and ate at yoshinoya HAHAHAHA And then I got home and started facebooking again HAHA

But yeah!!! That night I realised that there was a report due last friday which I totally forgot about!! They don’t have like course outlines and they don’t really have tuts here, just like lectures so I’m not used to this system and it’s really hard to organise so I completely forgot… and I was like OH SHITTTTTT and then I read the instructions but I still had no idea what I was supposed to write about… so then I was like SHITTT… but then it was too late already so I couldn’ t really call and ask my friends… and I had that class the next day anyway so I was like.. alright… I’ll just tell the teacher what happened and ask for an extension…

And then the next day I went up to her and just told her the truth, that I totally forgot about it coz it was right after a week of holidays and I got all distracted and stuff, which isn’t really an excuse but it’s the truth haha… And she was like… ok ok I’ll accept it late this time… hand it in by Thursday but don’t be late for report 2 and 3!! So I was like ok ok thank you thank you!! 

But yeah yeah this girl in my dorm was talking to me about this korean party she was hosting right? so then I sent her a reply and then on Monday she sent me a reply back and apologised for the late reply and told me that she was riding her bike and crashed with a car the day before so she was really shocked and couldn’t write the mail so I kind of got shocked too… like I don’t know… In Australia people don’t really ride bikes right?? Like we only really hear about cars crashing into other cars right?? So like how I imagined cars hitting bicycles type of accidents was that the biker would like fly off 10 metres away and roll for like another 10 metres and then eventually end up a cripple or something so I was like HOLY SHITTT. And before I was supposed to go and play tennis with a tennis circle called blueberry right? (I went to their nomikai and promised that I’d go to their practice on Tuesday) But this was too serious so I felt I HAD to breka the promise and I was like I’ll go visit my friend and see how she’s doing and help her with anything she needs help with… So then I told the blueberry leader that I couldn’t go anymore but then I bumped into my friend at uni and she was like fine!!! like she was standing up by herself and she could walk and everything and she just said that she was a bit bruised on her shoulder and I was really relieved but at the same time I was like PFFFFFFFT right? Like I don’t know that’s still bad I guess but that’s no where near as bad as I expected!! But I told blueberry that I couldn’t go anymore and I didn’t want to keep changing and changing and changing so I just went home and worked on my report… well I was SUPPOSED to work on my report but I just ended up procrastinating on facebook >_< Oh but yeah!!! In the morning I was late to class right?? And on the way I bumped into somebody else from my dorm and she goes to the same class I go to right? So she was rushing and she almost crashed into a motorbike too!! And then she told me that last friday she crashed into a car!! And I was like WTF??? HOLY CRAP HOW COME PPL CRASH SO MUCH??? But I think those two are just special… I think people don’t usually crash here HAHA… Just ride safely and you’ll be fine :):)

But yeah then yesterday I HAD to finish my report coz it was due today right?? So I couldn’t go to Saimonme (the circle that plays with orphans) even though I usually go on Wednesdays >_< Oh but before that I made curry!!! and I don’t know it was yummy and stuff but yeah I made a lot large pot of curry right? And I let it cool down in the pot for a few hrs so I could put it in the fridge right?? But then after a few hrs it started growing these REALLY REALLY yellow wax-like things right??/ Like the curry would be brown, but then there’d be BRIGHT yellow wax-like things there and I was like WTF IS THIS??? And then I realised that there must be something wrong with the curry blocks I used… coz I made curry with the same curry blocks before… and as I was making it a bit splashed on my shirt right?? And the yellow colouring is SOOOOOOOOoooo strong!! Like I couldn’t wash it out… like I tried rinsing it off immediately but it stained and then immediately I put it in the washing machine but it still didn’t go away and then I tried again and it still didn’t go away and then I had to bleach it… and also like I was wiping the table after making curry right?? and no matter how hard I scrubbed there was this yellow curry mark and then after I saw the yellow wax-like things growing out of curry I left for just a few hrs, I was like… ok… there’s something wrong with this curry… I HAVE to throw this out even though I hate throwing food away! But I already ate some of it for dinner >_< I hope I don’t die!! Hmmm but yeah then I procrastinated on facebook and somehow managed to finish my report at the same time :)

And then today I went to get it printed right? But I didn’t have a computer account yet so I had to borrow a friend’s… OH YEAH!!! Yesterday I went to get a computer account but I was a bit late to the thing and then they told me that I’d have to wait till next time >_< ANDDDD I also met with my tutor (mentor type thing) yesterday!! Like we had lunch together and she’s a 3rd yr economics student just like me!! And she studied in England for 6 yrs or somethign right so her English is pera-pera!!! But yeah neither of us really knows what tutors/mentors are supposed to do and what we’re supposed to be doing so we were just like… err ok let’s just sit down and talk HAHAHAHA But yeah that was fun :) and she said that she’s going to try to get her manager to hire me!! (She teaches English)

Hmm but yeah yeah back to today… I had to get my report printed right? So I printed it and I was like… huh??? why is there only one page??? (It was supposed to be 2 pages) And then I was like… ok I’ll try printing again… and then I printed it again… and then I was like huh??? why is there only one page again??? and then I kept trying and trying and trying and then I was like wtf this is screwed… and then I realised that it was printed double-sided and then I was like… OMG SUGEEE!!!! But I wasted a lot of paper >_< But yeah then I went to hand in my report at the foreign student division office right??? And the person there was like… wow you’ve tanned a lot!! and I was like YEAH STUPID SUN!!!!!! but yeah!! too much tennis and too much sun!! Like when I first came here people thought I looked really Jap… and they’d be like WHOAAAA when they found out I wasn’t… but tonight somebody was like… you don’t look Japanese where are you from???? WHOAAA IM TURNING BLACK >_< when summer comes it’s gonna be even worse!! >_<

Hmm but yeah I wanted to go to sign language club today right? But my friend who borrowed money from me told me on facebook that she wanted to meet me and give me back my money and I didn’t know where I could meet her so I was like err ok I’ll go to iAT (International something something, I don’t remember, but it’s a circle for Japanese and international students to meet each other and stuff) coz she goes there sometimes and I told her she can give me the money back then… but then she deleted the post on facebook… haha it was kind of funny coz I posted it right?? and then like a while later I was like huh?? there’s nothing there!! My internet must have been screwed when I clicked submit or something so I was like alright I’ll write it again then… and then I wrote it and made sure I posted it right this time… but then a while later my post disappeared again and I was like… ok wtf? she’s definitely deleting my posts…. but yeah since she told me she wanted to give me my money back and I told her I’d go to iAT that day so she could give me back my money, I went to iAT instead of sign language circle coz I hate breaking promises but she didn’t show up… haha damn I should have gone to sign language circle… but yeah iAT’s fun too, like the people are really nice and a lot of people there like me and stuff but I like sign language circle better… it’s a shame that they only have teaching sessions once a week though!! >_< And it clashes with iAT! >_< Haha but yeah I actually made a youtube video of my 自己紹介 in Japanese in sign language :) I don’t really know enough yet to say anything but that though!!!

Hmm but yeah after iAT I went to eat hamburg with iAT people!! And then after that I wasn’t really hungry but I felt like stuffing myself so I was like ok I’m gonna go somewhere and stuff myself… and then I saw mos burger and I’ve never gone there before but I heard people talk about it so I was like oooo!! I wanna try!! and then I went there and ordered a mos burger and it was really nice!!!!! But yeah I bumped into a friend of mine from TCT (one of the tennis circles) right??? And she was with a guy right?? So I playfully asked her… oooo is he your bf?? and she was like NoooOoOoooo! He’s just teaching me maths!! And I was like hahaha 頑張って！！And I knew that something was going on between those two right??? And I wanted to watch it and then tease the girl about it afterwards… like before I thought I’d just finish my burger and leave but coz I saw those two I took out my Japanese books and started studying there and eavesdropping on them HAHAHAHAHAHA And I was planning to tease her about it when they leave right??? BUT THEY DIDN’T!!! OMG I was there from like eight o’clock or something and then at eleven the Mos Burger guy was like… sorry 2nd floor closes at 11… and I was like HOLY SHIT and then the two of them went to first floor to continue studying and I was like… OK OK!! YOU WIN I’M NOT STAYING ANY LONGER!! But yeah thanks to her I got a lot of study done!!! :D:D:D Like I want to tease her about the guy and I think I have her in my phone contacts BUT I CAN’T REMEMBER HER NAME HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA Like you know how I said before that all these people want my number so I’m like ok ok I’ll give it to you but like I’m really bad with remembering Japanese names especially when I meet a lot of them at the same time so I end up forgetting who half the people in my address book are but sometimes they send me mail and I have no idea who they are but I try to pretend I do and reply to them as though I know who they are??? Well it’s still like that!! HAHAHA BUT GRAH!! Now I don’t know who she is on my phonebook and I can’t tease her!! >_<

Whoa holy crap… I didn’t even do that much this week… and it hasn’t even been a week it’s been like half a week :O:O AND I STILL MANAGED TO WRITE SO MUCH!!! Once I get back to my non-procrastinating on facebook half the time life it mightn’t be possible writing like this anymore >_<

Kyoto Uni Circles!! + Golden week!!

Whoa everybody hisashiburi~!!!!! Holy crap I have like a month of stuff to write about and I’ve been doing things almost every day NSDFISNFOIDSNFIDF So yeah I don’t think I can tell you about every day anymore… I’ll have to change the format of my entries a bit :O:O:O

But yeah guess what??? A week or so ago I came back to my dorm after doing something and I was about to get into my room right??? And then this random came up to me and she was like…. I’ve read your blog!!! And then I was like…. huh??!?!??!!?!?? and then she was like… you have a blog right?? I’ve read it!!! And I was like… omg!!! Like I thought only my friends from Aus were reading this!!! And I thought yeah maybe random ppl would read it but not random ppl who live in my dorm!!!!! :O:O:O But yeah apparently she was searching for information on my dorm and I talked a bit about it or something and that’s how she found my blog :O:O:O:O But yeah she’s a girl right?? So she can’t go to the men’s part of the onsen… so she found how men walk around swinging their balls really entertaining….. :O:O:O Oh yeah and she keeps telling me not to change how I write/what I write about just coz she found out and she’s gonna tell other ppl in my dorm about it… so here goes…..

Before I went to Kyoto Uni I heard that it’s like 80% guys and 20% ugly girls… but that’s not true at all!!! Like in my first KUINEP class I couldn’t find my classroom right?? But luckily I ran into a friend and she showed me the way… OH!!! Do you UNSW ppl who did JAPN2500 with me remember Olivia?? Well she’s in Kyoto Uni at the moment too!! But she didn’t remember me >_<… Like I saw her and I was like… omg Olivia!!!! And then she was like… errrr??? and had a really lost face and I was like omg you don’t remember me… even though I was so crazy in that class!!! >_< Well actually I’m crazy pretty much all the time not just in that class but yeah… But yeah yeah back to the point… Kyoto Uni isn’t 80% guys and 20% ugly girls at all!! Like I went to that class late right?? And it was like almost fully packed… so I was forced to sit in the only seat left… which just so happened to be surrounded by 3 cute girls….. It’s not my fault I didn’t choose ok??? :O:O:O But yeah all 3 of them ended up dropping the class HAHAHAHAHAA

Oh but one of them is in one of my other classes!! Like in Kyoto Uni there are sports classes!! And they count as credit too!!! So I was like omg yay fun!! And took tennis and badminton classes… but I went to the tennis class and the teacher was like… ok let’s bounce the ball up and down on your racquet… and I was like WTFFF this is like insulting…. But yeah those classes are taught in Japanese right?? So I couldn’t really understand and that girl happened to be in my class so she translates for me kind of :O:O:O Haha it was kind of funny coz I couldn’t recognise her… like she came up to me and started talking to me and I was like… errr wtf??? But yeah I ended up remembering so that was good :D:D:D:D:D Hmm but yeah… that class is kind of funny… coz a lot of ppl think they’re really pro or something and try to show off… like… they try to smack the ball as hard as they can but it’s kind of funny coz their swing is retarded and retarded swing + forcing yourself to hit as hard as you can + the ball almost never going in makes you look SUPER DUPER retarded… And as usual I just took things really casually but with tennis I can hit pretty hard while hitting it casually so they kind of got embarassed and stopped trying to show off HAHAHA

But yeah I was looking for tennis circles right??? Hmm in Japan uni clubs are separated into circles and clubs… clubs are like super serious and they train almost every day and stuff while circles are more social and not as serious… and I wanted to do other things as well not just play tennis so I wanted to join a circle… but yeah I was looking for posters right?? Oh circles post up posters and hand out leaflets and stuff usually… but yeah as I was looking for a poster I saw somebody talking to random ppl and trying to convince them to join their tennis circle (his one is called ATA)!! Yeah in a lot of circles go up to randoms and promote their circles and stuff…. so yeah I was like oh what good timing!!! So then I went up to him and he was like… oh are you free today?? and I was like yeah I am!! And then he was like ooooh then you should come and watch our practice!! So I was like ok!! and then he introduced me to like other members… and they all dressed really colourful and had dyed and crazy hair and thought they were hard and stuff and I was like… oh shit… like I usually hate ppl who think they’re hard but these ppl were really really nice to me!!! and in their practice they have an amateur group and an experienced group and the ppl in the experienced group are pretty good!! But yeah it was kind of also weird coz there were these guys fully dressed up in like collared shirts coats and boots and had their hair done and stuff coming to practice… and they didn’t even practice tennis… like they just stood there and watched… and some of the girls put on so much make up and dressed up and didn’t play tennis either… but yeah apparently in Japan tennis circles are pretty much nomikai circles (drinking parties) and in posters and stuff they actually write down the boys:girls membership ratio!! It’s kind of funny!!!! Oh yeah and we all went to eat dinner after practice… pretty much all the circles do that… like they go out for dinner together after they finish an activity….

But yeah I went to this other circle called TCT right?? And the ppl there loved me too!!! Like I went to their bowling event and then there was nomikai afterwards and I played crazy drinking games with all the guys and they all got drunk and started talking to me in English and I was able to understand almost everything they said so they got really really happy… like they told me that they thought that their english was really crap before… but realised that it’s not that bad now coz they can speak to me!!! OH AND YEAH!! A lot of them like had their arms around my shoulders and started hugging me and stuff and told me I was their best friend!!!!!!!!!!! And then I was like yay!! You’re my best friend too!!!!!! But I only met them that day right?? So in my mind I was like… umm… what’s this guy’s name again??? >_< OMG ITS SO HARD REMEMBERING JAPANESE PPL’S NAMES!!! Especially when there are like 50 ppl in a circle and they all take turns giving their 自己紹介… oh they actually do give self-intros in Japan!! Like usually in english you’d just say hey I’m Kevin nice to meet you right??? But in Japan they actually say like My name is blah blah blah from blah blah uni in blah blah grade majoring in blah blah blah etc etc and I was like whoaaaaa…. and I’ve had to give self-intros so much!!!! Hmm yeah but it’s really hard to remember ppl’s names!!! And like a lot of ppl asked for my Keitai number right??/ So I give it to them… But I don’t remember their names so I don’t know who half the ppl in my address book are!! >_< And sometimes they send me mail… and I’m like oh wtf… who the hell is this??? But I reply pretending that I know who they are anyway HAHAHA Hmm and yesterday I also went to this tennis circle called KUTLS’s BBQ!! They all loved me too!!!!!! haha and there was this girl who went to the US on exchange so she could speak english right?? And everybody was like OMG SPEAK ENGLISH I WANNA LISTEN!! So everybody surrounded us and I spoke english to this girl and you know when ppl tell you speak english!! and you don’t know what to talk about?? Well we were like errr what should we talk about??? and stuff it was kind of interesting!! HAHAHA… but yeah Japanese ppl LOVE english!!! They think it’s like really cool and awesome and stuff :O:O:O… Hmm but yeah they were gonna go out together after the bbq right?? but I had a nomikai to go to for this tennis circle called blueberry… and they all loved me too!!!!!! Hmm but at blueberry’s nomikai we didn’t really play that many drinking games… we just drank and talked and random drunk ppl kept coming up to me and talking to me in Japanese… hahahaha and there was this one girl who kept talking to me and then collapsing and then getting up and talking to me again it was really fun!! hahaha OHHHHH AND I don’t know why but Japanese ppl love to eat ramen after they go out drinking!!! Like not just this nomikai but the nomikai I went to before ppl wanted to eat ramen with me afterwards and they were really excited about it so I didn’t wanna turn them down… like I was like crazily full already but I stuffed down the ramen anyway… and I gained 2 kilos in one day yesterday!!!!! And I have another nomikai the day after tomorrow!! Grah I’m gonna get so fat!!!!!! >_< Hmm yeah but they’re not JUST nomikai circles… like they actually do practice tennis… like at least a few times a week… which is really good!! :D:D:D:D Oh and there are like 30 tennis circles in Kyoto Uni for some random reason it’s crazy!!! and I wanna go to all of them, I’m even crazier!!! :O:O:O

Hmm yeah but I haven’t just been going to tennis circles… I’ve been going to this circle called saimonme that plays with orphans too!! Actually that’s like my main circle I guess… coz I’ve gone like 7-8 times already and I plan on going as much as I can!! The kids there are soooooo cute!! And they all love me!!!!! Like you can choose from 4 different places to go right?? and usually ppl try all 4 and then choose one… but I’ve only gone to one… like I went to this one called nogiku… and the kids there are SOOOooo energetic!!! Like they’re always running around and telling me to give them piggy backs and hitting me and stuff… and then I tell them they’re weak and then they’re like >_< But yeah they love me soooo much!!! Like as soon as I get there they’re like KEVIN!!!!!!!! and then they all fight for my attention :O:O:O:O ESPECIALLY THE GIRLS Like one would be like give me a piggy back!! and then another would be like come play with me!! and another would take my name tag and be like if you want your name tag you better chase after me!! and then I can’t do all of that at the same time right?? so I pick one and the other girls get all sad and stuff so I have to somehow balance them >_< But yeah it’s so fun at this place that I don’t want to go to the other dorms… Hahaha but yeah they love playing with my hair too!!!! Like last week I went right?? And this lil kid was like… kevin kevin give me a piggy back!! So I did and then he was like… I’ll make your hair look really cool!!!!! And then he kept pulling my hair and I was like omg wtf are you doing and he was like… I’m making your hair look like dragon ball style!! that’s really cool!!!!!!!! And I was like OMG WTF!!!!! DRAGON BALL HAIR ISN’T COOL!!!!!!!!!!! but yeah that was really funny… it kind of hurt how he kept pulling me hair though hahahahahaa…. Oh and saimonme always treats us to dinner afterwards!! In Japanese culture senpais like to pay for kouhais right??? So they do that a lot!! Hmm actually it’s from the circle funds but I have no idea how they raise so much coz I haven’t had to pay a thing… and they’ve treated me to dinner at restaurants like 8 times or something and will probably continue to do so :O:O:O:O:O

Hmm oh and I also went to this sign language circle!! And the ppl there love me too!!!!!! They taught me how to give my self intro in sign language and we played random games and then they treated me to dinner :D:D I’m going again tonight!!!!

Hmm and I went to this badminton circle too!! But they played with plastic shuttlecocks which was kind of disappointing… but they all loved me too!!!! Like I’ve played badminton before so when I played them they were like omg sugeeee~!!! And then everybody wanted to talk to me and stuff :O:O

Oh and I also went to this thing called iAT that hosts parties every week for exchange students and Japanese ppl to meet each other…. and I met a lot of ppl there and they all love me too!!!!! Like it was nice coz I got to meet a lot of ppl living in my dorm (my dorm is for international students at Kyoto University), so it was nice going home with ppl for once!!! And now I bump into them a lot at dorm/uni now and I have a nice chat with them :D Oh and they’re in my classes too!!

Hmm and then in golden week Anna from UNSW came and visited me!! So I asked a lot of exchange students/japanese ppl who can speak english out and we all played bowling and I got top score so I won this huge blowup pin thing…. and it took AGES blowing that pin up!! But yeah I’m actually really crap at bowling right?? but Japanese circles LOVE bowling for some reason so I’ve bowled like 5 times or something since I’ve gotten here and improved a lot :O:O:O Hmm actually maybe 4 times :O:O I think I might have played bowling more in Japan in one month than I have all my life in Aus!! :O:O:O Hmm but then yeah okonomiyaki party was really fun too!!! Like I didn’t really know how to make okonomiyaki so my japanese friend taught me and then we all helped to make this really yummy okonomiyaki!!! It was really satisfying because EVERYBODY wanted to help!! And yeah it was really really nice!!! Like we kept getting better and better and better and it tasted so good!! Like it tasted better than the okonomiyaki they serve at restaurants :O:O:O:O 

Hmm but yeah then the next day I went to a game center.. and it was so fun!! Like they have these ball throwing game things like they have these little balls and you have to hit these targets and sometimes the targets come really really fast and it goes really crazy and you can have up to 4 players at a time it’s crazy :O:O:OO: And air hockey!!! They have like 4 player air hockey and 3 pucks and stuff it’s crazy!!! I kept beating anna!! She’s just too crap!!!! :O:O:O Hmm we also played those UFO catcher things but we couldn’t win anything and we played other stuff but I can’t be bothered explaining all of them :O:O:O:O BUt yeah omg we were SOOOOOoooooo tired from game center… it was more tiring than tennis!!!!!!

HMm then the day before yesterday I was gonna visit my host family from before right? So I showed anna around my host family’s suburb… but there wasn’t really that much… but yeah she had to go back to inaka area so she left and I went to visit my host family… and I met this polish girl doing homestay there now and she was really nice too!!! But yeah then we talked about a lot of random stuff but it’s too much to write about… But yeah I had to leave so that I could catch the last bus home right??? But like I had to take the train to Kyoto station first… but yeah I felt bad leaving early so I waited until the very last few mins and then said I had to go and quickly left and stuff… but my host family took SOOOOooo long saying good bye!!! And I didn’t wanna cut them off so I kept being friendly and replying and stuff… and they closed the door and I quickly ran as fast as I could but then I ate and drank way too much so I felt really stuffed and couldn’t really run that much >_< But yeah then I missed the train I wanted to catch and then I was like shitttt but I might still be able to make it if I catch the next one… but then I accidentally took the local train instead of the express one….. and then I was like SHITTTTT and then I got to kyoto station late and missed my last bus >_< So then I was like… hmm I can still catch the train (but I had to change to a different train line from a diff company and stuff), so I asked the ticket guy there and he taught me where to change trains… but then I missed that train station!!! and then I was like OH SHIT!!! I NEED TO GET BACK!!! so then I got off at the next train station but it was a small station and it was really late already so the next train wasn’t for another half an hr and if I waited that long I wouldn’t make it to the last train back home!! So then I was like shittttttttttt and asked the ticket guy there and he said oh you can change trains here too!! and then he pointed the way to me… so I went there… and then I had to go to this other station to change trains again right??? and like I got there and I saw the last train right there!!!! And then I was like OH SHIT!!! NO DON’T LEAVE I HAVEN’T BOUGHT MY TICKET YET!!! So I quickly bought my ticket as quickly as possible and fully sprinted to the train and I made it!!! :D:D:D and then I was huffing and puffing and catching my breath and stuff and then I saw the driver get out of the train… and then I was like wtf??? and then I saw ppl casually walking towards the train… for like the next 10 mins… and I was like… OMGGGG the train wasn’t gonna go for another 10 mins I rushed for nothing >_<

But yeah I’ve pretty much been doing that + other stuff I can’t think of on the to of my head for the past month… and I think I haven’t had one day off since I started :O:O:O I’ve had maybe 2-3 nights off though… and I cook those nights and it takes me AAAAAAAAGES to cook… but I cook enough for a while… and then I just microwave them for lunch the next day at uni and stuff… and then lunch the next day… and then lunch the next day again for like the rest of the week hahahahahahhahaha omg I need to start doing some study I literally haven’t touched anything since uni started and it’s been almost a month!!!!!! And I need to stop being late/missing class!!!

I’m like a regular customer now :O:OO:O::O BUTTTT not just that…. I had to buy rice cooker, frying pan, etc ahh wtf this is clogging up my post I’m just going to write a shopping guide later on

But yeah yeah I just pretty much unpacked stuff the whole day on sunday… and went to the supermarket to buy dinner… and I saw 4 potato croquettes for 100 yen!! so I bought that… and then I bought some rice… and then bought some deep fried chicken too :OO: and ended up eating too much >_< But yeah the shopping bill was really expensive too!! But I’ll write about that in my shopping guide…

Hmmm so yeah on monday we had a placement test for jap right?? and it was really hard and stuff >_< Like remember how I said I’d study??? well I kind of didn’t have any time to… >_< So I ended up in intermediate 2…. which is already quite difficult!! I’m kind of glad I didn’t get into intermediate 3… otherwise I’d forget all the stuff that I crammed…

OHH!!! And there were SOOOOOOOooooo  many uni clubs and circles promoting themselves in the morning!!! It’s nothing like in Australia… like they all actually come up to you and try to talk you into joining their club and stuff… kind of like hosts getting ppl to come to their host clubs… But yeah!! They also lined up in this huge line so that they formed this kind of like tunnel kind of thing and then I went through it and there were SOOOOOOOOOoooooo many different circles that I got SOOOOOOoooooooo many sheets and my bag became really heavy >_<

And then that night I went to Gion to buy a rice cooker and other cooking stuff right??? Like I went by bicycle and I was like ok I’ll ride my bike back… OHHHHH I can’t ride my bike well yet right?? and I was like.. ok… it’s just my confidence… I just need to get rid of my fear and try riding like that!! So I did… and then I crashed into someone… then I was like damn… >_< and then I crashed into a parked bike… and I was like damn again >_< and then after a while the footpath became really narrow right?? So then I was like… hmm it might be better to ride where the cars are… then after a while I tried to go back on the footpath… and I FULLY STACKED IT!!! LUCKY I FELL ON THE FOOTPATH!!!! But yeah my bike’s front basket is kind of demented now….. :O:O and my leg kind of got screwed…. so then I realised… OK!! MAYBE ITS NOT MY CONFIDENCE THATS LACKING!! IF I DON’T RIDE MORE CAREFULLY I WILL DIE!!! but yeah then I was like… ok I’m just gonna leave my bike here and walk from now on…. And then I limped my way to Gion. Like I asked the foreign student division at Kyoto University where I could buy a TV cable right? (They have old TV wall sockets in my dorm so I had to buy another cable) But then I kind of got lost… and then I was saw this place called Ocha-ya which was like a fancy cafe kind of thing… and I was like… sounds yummy!!! So I went there for a break, and it was okay… not THAT great… but it was expensive!! But yeah yeah when I went to pay the girl there was really kind!! Like she didn’t know where… and usually you’d just say sorry I don’t know right? But she was like… wait a sec… and then went to the kitchen and then asked everybody and then came back and then kept explaining to me and tried to speak english and drew maps for me and stuff… and I was so grateful!!! But yeah… I still couldn’t really understand properly so I got lost again… HAHAHA BUTTT I found this HUUUUGE street with SOOOO many shops!! Like before I went to Kyoto station and it was like…. just the station… like I was like… where are all the shopping centres???? what the hell??? and then I was like… ok… Kyoto is like inaka…. But then I went to Karasuma…. and I was like… WHOAAAA SUGEEEEE!!!! But yeah then I ate takoyaki for dinner :O:O:O and went around a lot of shops and stuff… and th en eventually I was like… ok… I didn’t come here for that… so I asked this random obaachan shopkeeper who looked bored and she taught me how to get to denkiya-san (electronics shop). So then I went there… and saw heaps of TV cables… and I wanted to ask the ppl there what cable I needed but once they were like… avoiding me for some reason… So then I was like.. alright I’ll just look at the back of the packaging… and I was kind of confused… so I was like… ok ok I’ll go take a better look at my tv wall socket back home first… but then I saw a really cheap rice cooker on sale and there was only one left so I was like OMGGG I MUST BUY THIS!! NOW!!! So I bought it… and then I also bought heaps of kitchen stuff…… and then I was like… ok time to go home!! and then with my rice cooker and kitchenware in my hand I kept walking and walking and walking and then after 30 mins I was like.. why does this place not look familiar at all??????? and then I asked for directions… and I walked in TOTALLY THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION!!! So then I had to walk 30 mins back to where the electronics shops were… and then 30 mins again back to my bicycle… and MY ARMS WERE LIKE DEAD!! and then I was like… yoshaaaa time to go home!!!! But then I put my rice cooker and kitchenware on my bike… and then I was like… SHIT!! I CAN’T EVEN SIT DOWN!!! So then I was like… ok ok…I’ll wheel it back… but my leg was screwed from stacking it and my arms were completely dead and I couldn’t balance it properly even walking it… and then I was like… SHITTTTT so then I had no choice but to abandon my bike… and then I was like… alright I’ll catch a bus….. and then I looked at the bus timetable and the last bus had left already >_< So then I had to take a taxi back home..

But yeah so I was like… grahhhhh is nething gonna happen to my bike??? (lots of places take bicycles away if they’re left there… well at least they have posters that say they would) but I didn’t have time to go back (it was like 11 by the time I got home)… but yeah then I went back the next day and it was still there…. LUCKY!!! OH YEAH!!! BUT I LEFT MY KITCHEN SCALES IN THE TAXI!!!! IT WAS SO FRUSTRATING!! like… I only bought my stuff there coz it was so cheap and I wanted to save money… and then just like that all the money I saved plus more was gone >_< Hmm and then the rest of the day I just unpacked stuff at home and stuff I think… I don’t really remember >_< Same with Wednesday I think… I don’t completely remember what i did…. so long ago and so much has happened >_<

And then on Thursday I started class!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I’ll write more about it next entry!! SOOOOOOOOooooooooooo much has happened since then!!!!!

I’m back!!!11!!1!!!1 Holy crap it’s been almost 2 weeks since I’ve written a post… :O:O:O and it’s not coz nothing’s been happening and I have nothing to write about… it’s the OPPOSITE!!! There’s been TOO MUCH!!! I had absolutely no time to post a blog…. but now I do so don’t worry my loyal blog fans ^_^

Hmm I’ll start off from the Monday 2 weeks ago (I just watched DVDs on Sunday so there’s not much to talk about). But yeah on Monday I went to get my immigration status changed from tourist visa to student visa (I came here on a student visa). And I met two other fellow exchange students there from Holland… and omg I feel so short!!!!! Like back in Aus I’ve always thought I was like… around average… not particularly short… but it’s ironic coz I’m short even for JAPANESE!!! WTF!!! JAP ppl are supposed to be short!!!!!!!! But yeah yeah… I went to the immigration bureau with Kyoto University staff right?? And we were waiting so I opened a packet of Tim Tams (I STILL 2 packets of Tim Tams left from Aus :O:O:O They’re like all melted and stuff though… >_<) But yeah omg!! This old woman randomly came up to me and she was like… that looks really yummy!!! So then I was like… oh oh go ahead and eat one!!! So then she got really happy and ate one :O:O:O

Hmm and then on Tuesday I went to play soccer with my host brother!!! Like he kept telling me to belt the shit out of the ball while he just catches it and rolls it back… and my feet hurt so much afterwards!!! and I was so tired!!! And like whenever I’d get tired and lose energy he’d be like KICK HARDER!!! STRONGER!!!! FURTHER!!! and I’d be like… .omg ok ok!!!! So yeah after like 4 hrs of continous belting the shit out of the ball we finally went back home and I was SOoOoooOOooOoooOoooOOooOOooOOOoo tired afterwards but went to starbucks anyway HAHAHA coz I wanted to say bye and stuff… but the starbucks person seemed really cold that day so I was like… oh she might have PMS, better just leave her then  :O:O:O

But yeah on Wednesday I checked in to my dorm and stuff!! I didn’t actually move in, like I just filled in some paper work and got the keys and stuff… but yeah then I checked out my room!! I have a couples room all to myself :O:O I even have two beds in case I get super fat and can’t fit on one :O:O But yeah couple’s rooms have their personal shower and stuff while single rooms don’t… so I don’t have to swing my balls around in front of other ppl like in onsen :) But yeah I planned to do some cleaning first, but I didn’t have time and had to go to orientation for Kyoto University… so I did and they explained a lot of stuff and stuff… oh the staff at Kyoto University’s Foreign Student Division (the office that handles exchange students and stuff are really nice and helpful!!) I heard that Kyoto University’s exchange program isn’t that good and the staff don’t really help but that’s not true at all!!! They are so helpful!!!!!! 

Hmm and then on Thursday and Friday I  went to a place called den den town (a place with a lot of electronics shops) to buy stuff I need for my dorm… and like I got lost right so I walked around ages and ages and ages and ages and ages and ages and I heard that Den Den Town’s really perverted and there’s heaps of like maid cafes and porn places and I saw this store that’s like a net cafe except you go there to watch porn, like they charge you for time and stuff and I was like omg that’s  so disgusting…  this must be den den town… so I walked around and it wasn’t >_< And then I was like… I just need to follow the trail of otakus… but there wasn’t any… >_< So then I ended up asking ppl and they told me… and it’s not full of otaku looking ppl like I imagined…. it seemed pretty normal to me :O:O But yeah then on Thursday I bought a dvd player and a toaster oven thing and had to walk back by myself and it was so tiring!!! Well I didn’t walk all the way back home but I had to walk to the station and got lost so I was walking around for an hr and a half… :O:O:O:O BUTTT it was even worse on Friday!! I bought a TV and pans and pots and mixing bowls and knives and random kitchenware and already had a bag full of stuff and I got lost AGAIN… like I asked the shopkeeper how to get to the station from here and he was like… oh it’s just a 3 min walk from this place… and then I was like oh ok… and then after 20 mins I was like.. WTF he’s DEFINITELY lying…. so then I asked somebody else and he was like… oh it’s back the way you came from… and I was like OMG!!! SO HE WASN’T LYING!!! and then went back and the station was like hidden… :O:O:O:O:O:O

But yeah on Saturday I went to this place called the recycle centre!! And you get stuff chucked away for free :O:O:O My host dad and I went there to get a bicycle, but we had to fix it ourselves… well there were volunteers there who gave us guidance and stuff so it was ok…. But yeah I have no idea how bicycles work… so I kind of felt really useless… I couldn’t really do much to help >_< But my host dad and the volunteer ppl kind of fixed the bike for me… :D:D And THENNNNNNNN on Saturday night I finally moved to Kyoto University’s dorm!!!!!!

Oh oh and I wrote letters for everybody in my host family!! Like I had to wait until they all went to bed… and for some reason they decided to stay up till 2 AM on friday… so I was like omg…. and started to write at 2 o’clock… but then halfway through I fell asleep >_< And then the next morning I woke up and I was like SHITTTTTTTTTT I need to finish my letters!!! So then I quickly wrote as fast as I could and couldn’t write as much as I wanted to >_< But yeah… coz of that I got out of bed really late (I was writing it in bed) and we were supposed to go to the recycling centre early so I think maybe my host family got pissed off >_< Oh well……

But yeah I’ll write about what happened in the next post!! Otherwise this post would be super duper long :O:O:OO::O:OO::O:O:O

I am Kero!!!!!

Wow it’s been almost a week since I’ve written a blog post!! But yeah yeah a lot’s happened!!!

On Monday my host parents took a day off so we went to an onsen again right??? and this time I was a bit more swinging my balls around… I wasn’t like WEEEEEEeeeEeeeEee or anything but like it wasn’t really THAT bad nemore….. but yeah yeah in Japan they usually sit down to wash themselves right??/ but in this onsen they had standing showers… and I was like woot!! standing showers!!! SO then I went there and then my host dad was like… nobody showers standing up here……… they just use that to rinse themselves… so everybody was probably looking at you……. and then I was like… omg…. I should have covered my balls >_< But yeah they also had these sauna type rooms where you lie down and stuff…. and I went to a 67 degree one and I didn’t really feel it was that bad!!! :O:O:O But then I went to a 40 degree one and thought it was hot and uncomfortable… and then my host mum was like… this one is hot??? the one we went to before was 67 degrees!! and I was like omg no way!!!! But yeah I think it was coz it was really cramped in the 40 degree one… well I went to several 40 degree ones but they didn’t really give you much space… but in the 67 degree one nobody else could take the heat so I could move around freely :O:O:O:O

Hmm and then on Tuesday my host dad was sick… so I just went shopping for groceries and stuff with him :O But yeah I made dinner that night!!! Tonkatsu and these fish thingies… and salad :O:O apparently with tonkatsu you have to have finely sliced cabbage :OO: Oh yeah yeah!!! Japan was playing in this baseball tournament final that day… and I saw all these ppl crowded outside this small shop in a shopping centre…and I was like… why??? And they had this mini television in the shop right??? So there was like a whole crowd around this super duper mini television set all cheering for Japan and I was like whoaaa sugeeee And then Japan won and they all started getting excited and cheering and stuff :O:O:O

Hmmm and then on Wednesday I went to Starbucks to study… I’ve been studying like crazy these days!! Coz I have a placement test for Japanese on the 6th of April right? And I want to get into the advanced class rather than the intermediate class… coz that’d be more challenging and I’d get to improve my Japanese more… so I’m trying to learn like a whole year’s worth of work in 1 week :O:O:O 

Hmmm and then on Thursday I went to play tennis at Kansai Gaidai again… OH OH but I lost my tennis racquet!!! Like I took it with me… but I went to a shopping centre first… and as I was walking to my bus stop to go to Kansai Gaidai I was like… wait a sec… where’s my tennis racquet??? :O:O:O:O and then I was like shiiiiiit!!! But I was really confused coz I coudln’t think of where I left it… and I was like… I haven’t even done much… where the hell could I have left it???? So then I was like… OH I know!!!! I must have left it in the toilet when I chucked a shit… so then I asked the shop next to the toilet and they rang the 2nd floor office for me and it wasn’t there >_< so then I was like… wtf??? OHhh!! Maybe when I went to the bookstore and looked at magazines (it wasn’t porn) I might have put it down… so then I asked the bookstore and they were like no… >_<Then I was like wtf??? Maybe I left it at the chemist… or this small shop I went to… so then I went there too and they all said they didn’t have it… oh and I don’t know how to say like Thanks anyway right?? So I just kind of just left without saying anything after they said they didn’t have it :O:O:OO: oh wait wait I said like ああ、そう。 and then left but that’s like incredibly rude :O:O:O But yeah yeah… then I was like OH!!!! I must have left it when I ate bento!!! So I went to the shop next to where I ate the bento and the shopkeeper took me to this secret hideout place… and it was kind of scary… like you know the automatic doors in like doom and like wolfenstein and stuff??? well they had doors like that… like this metal door thing that just rises up by itself.. and we went through so many… I was half expecting monsters to come out and start attacking me :O:O:O But yeah yeah then I had to fill in some form to get my racquets back… and I didn’t know how to write my address in Kanji so I was like oh crap… >_< then the guy just told me to write in hiragana HAHAHA Hmm yeah then I played tennis and met a few more ppl from Kansai Gaidai… the turnout was really good!! I was really surprised coz usually not many ppl go!!! :O:O

Hmm but yeah then yesterday I went to starbucks again to study but then lost concentration… like I’m always studying and then I lose concentration and blank out for like half an hr or something and then I realise and I’m like oh crap I should get back to studying :O:O:O but yeah I just look at blank space… I must look so scary!!! :O:O:O

Hmm yeah and then today we went to rent dvds!! It’s really cheap renting here!! like 85 yen for a dvd :O:OO: whoaaaaa!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!111 Oh oh and yesterday I got a present from Miho-san!! (Remember my host family’s friend??) They gave me a Hanko, which is like a name stamp thing!! They use it in Japanese instead of signatures a lot of the time :O:O:O Oh oh and hana-chan (Miho-san’s daughter) wrote me another message :OO:O: I can’t understand the last sentence… does anybody know what it means???

Oh yeah!! And my host bro gave me a nickname :O:O:O He said that I’m Kero from now on :O:O coz I look like a frog… nah nah that’s not the real reason!! He took the Ke from Kevin and Ro from Law and said that my Japanese name is Kero :O:OO: and he said that I have to introduce myself as Kero from now on!!! :O:O:O:O:O:O:O
